'Not everything is as it seems': Helena's message after Bachelor elimination

Matt Agnew has chosen his final two, and it doesn’t include Mauritian-born beauty Helena Sauzier.

The former Miss World competitor was sent packing after an awkward date with our Bachelor who probed her for answers following their even more awkward hometown visit the previous week.

Taking to Instagram the morning after her elimination, Helena described her experience as ‘incredible and emotionally exhausting’, and hinted that there’s more to the story than what viewers see on TV.

“I have stayed true to myself and stand by every decision that I made, and every feeling that I felt,” she said.

“On that note: a reminder to everyone on social media to please be gentle to us all - not everything you watch is as it seems, so remember to take all that you see/hear with a big pinch of salt!”

Helena also thanked her supporters, Bachelor star friends and the Ten crew “for keeping us sane”.

Fans were quick to reassure the 25-year-old that she didn’t come across poorly, saying, “kept your dignity and you used your intuition and was true to yourself all along. That's what class is all about,” and “you are so classy. Good on you for staying dignified.”

The other hot topic on people’s minds is Abbie Chatfield’s very racy beach scene with Matt, and Helena was asked about it on KIISFM radio on Thursday morning.

“I heard the ‘I’m so horny’ and I actually nearly fell,” she said. “There’s also like 20 cameras around you. I was like, ‘No!’”

There’s only one episode left for this season - here, we take a look at the 26 gorgeous and talented bachelorettes who have been eliminated and what they’ve been up to since leaving the show.

Who has made it to the Bachelor Australia finale?

Abbie Chatfield, QLD

Instagram: @abbiechatfield

If there’s one contestant who made sure she’ll be remembered for a long time to come, it’s 23-year-old Queenslander, Abbie Chatfield. Abbie went viral for telling Matt, “I’m a Gemini”, after he explained he was an astrophysicist.

She’s since made herself a rival within the house thanks to her strong chemistry with Matt and willingness to do anything to get more alone time with him.

The moment she snogged Matt during a cocktail party particularly left a mark, with Abbie saying she was so devastated by the ladies’ reactions that she ‘didn’t eat for three days’ afterwards.

Chelsie McLeod, VIC

Instagram: @chelsiemcleod

Melbourne chemical engineer, 28-year-old Chelsie McLeod, made quite the impression on Matt when she gave him a temporary tattoo of oxytocin when she first met him. Oxytocin is often known as the ‘love hormone’, because oxytocin levels rise when you make physical contact with another person.

It was clear to see a lot of oxytocin was exchanged during their first single date together, and many bookies and fans have pegged Chelsie as this year’s winner.

Helena seemed to hit it off with Bachelor Matt the first time they met, with the 25-year-old wooing him with her French accent.

Since them, the health and wellness coach has shared a very steamy, cocktail party kiss with Matt, and a photo he posted to Instagram had some fans suggesting that Helena could be the eventual winner.

But is her romance with Matt about to come undone? It certainly looks that way according to the sneak peek for episode 14, which shows the Mauritius-born beauty walk out of her hometown date.

While she may not have spent the most time with Matt, she certainly has fallen hard and fast for him, but their love wasn’t meant to be.

Post-Bachie, the brunette beauty has been seen out and about with her fellow ex-bachelorettes and has debuted a sleek new haircut. New hair, who dis?

Her beautiful Instagram is full of happy family shots and snapshots of days at the beach.

She quickly established herself as a favourite for the win after she secured Matt’s hometown date, and the first second single date of the group. An alleged Bachelor insider even claimed that she knew Matt before coming on the show.

After her elimination, Elly said she escaped Australia for a “life changing trip” overseas.

“I have since ventured off to Europe with my amazing sister @happylittlebeckymite ! I’m choking up as I write this because it was honestly the most life changing trip,” she wrote on Instagram.

Looking bronzed and happy, Elly went on to add that she’s met “so many more wonderful people” while on her getaway - could one of those be a new love interest?

“It’s been the best year yet and I bloody can’t wait to see what the future has in store!” she added.

The 24-year-old China Researcher has just returned from two years living in China and seemed delighted that Matt could speak a few words of Mandarin. Kristen initially told 10 Daily she was looking for love and someone to have ‘two little girls’ with.

Her single date with Matt went smoothly enough, but fans couldn’t help but cringe a little when they shared a kiss while covered in coffee scrub.

In episode 12, Matt decided to continue into the series’ final stretch with Elly Miles, Chelsie McLeod, Helena Sauzier, Emma Roche - and most controversially - Abbie Chatfield, sending the China researcher packing.

After her heartbreaking elimination, rumours began swirling that she fled the country and “dropped off the face of the earth”.

“She ran off to China and nobody heard anything from her for months,” an insider told Daily Mail Australia.

Kristen confirmed she’d escaped to her beloved home-away-from-home on Monday when she shared a snap of herself visiting the Great Wall of China.

“If my first post isn’t about China, have I really been to China?? So here I am...,” she captioned the post.

Sogand, who lived in Tehran up until 2005, was a hit at the ‘first impressions’ meeting when she taught Matt some choice words in Persian. Little did the Bachelor know he’d asked Sogand to marry him.

She’s since made an impression with an improv belly dance which was self-taught, but was criticised by Bachelor royals Snezana Wood and Laura Byrne for being too caught up in the drama of the mansion.

After leaving the show, she told Yahoo Lifestyle in an exclusive chat that she “can only blame herself” for how her Bachelor experience ended.

Since leaving the show, she’s continued to keep her 20,000 Instagram followers updated with fun snaps.
