The Block fans spot strange detail in Kylie and Brad's house as she quits

A real estate agent explains why the couple’s unusual decision may put buyers off at the upcoming auction.

The Block’s Kylie and Brad have been surrounded by drama throughout this year’s season of the reality show, from being accused of ‘bullying’ their co-stars Maddy and Charlotte to blowing up over leaked texts with their tradies. The most intense moment, however, was when Kylie discovered her husband had been ‘flirting’ with fellow competitor Mimi while she was asleep.

The mother-of-four subsequently flew home to Cairns, Queensland but returned a day later, only to quit the competition entirely in Sunday night's episode. Kylie brutally said she “hates” host Scott Cam after he shared the judges’ feedback for their front yard before she stormed off and announced she wouldn’t continue filming the rest of the season.

While there are still plenty of doubts about whether the pair are still together or if they will even show up at the upcoming auction - a fan has spotted a rather telling detail in their house during a recent inspection.

Taking to a popular Facebook group last week, the viewer shared that he and his wife had a tour of all five of The Block houses in Phillip Island on Halloween. He admitted Kylie and Brad’s house was “not as bad as [he] thought it was going to be” and he quite liked the black, but he was taken aback by one styling choice.

“What's interesting is that Kylie has put photos of her wedding day with Brad on the wall in the mezzanine level - so make of that what you will,” he wrote.

Images from Nine’s website show that Kylie has displayed a gallery of framed photos on the wall in the office space, including snaps of her children and one from her wedding day with Brad. The wall also features photos of the show’s judges Darren Palmer, Shaynna Blaze and Marty Fox, hosts Scott Cam and Shelley Craft, and scenic locations in Phillip Island - so it’s not entirely sentimental.

Although the frames were installed during week nine of the competition - two weeks before Brad was caught ‘flirting’ with Mimi - it’s interesting to note that Kylie never took the wedding photo down after she revealed on the show that they had separated.

Regardless of the relationship drama, however, real estate agent and Director at Emma James & Co., Emma Fuller, tells Yahoo Lifestyle that it’s not the best idea to display personal photos in a home you’re trying to sell.

“In general, I would keep personal mementos/family photos to a minimum,” she says. “There is some benefit in adding warmth to a home with personal touches such as family photographs and mementos, but it is also important for a buyer to also be able to visualise themselves living in your space and not feel as if they are intruding, so it's important not to overdo these for open homes/advertising material.”

Kylie and Brad’s photo wall certainly isn’t their only polarising design choice this season, with their all-black aesthetic dividing both viewers and the judges.

Not only do they have a black bathtub, toilet and even toilet paper, but the kitchen, dining room, living room and majority of the bedrooms also match the sombre tone.

Emma tells Yahoo Lifestyle that while having a specific design style “is not necessarily a bad thing”, Kylie and Brad shouldn’t expect their home to have broad appeal on auction day.

“With black being such a bold colour and used throughout the entire house - not only in the paintwork but also the more permanent fixtures such as window/door framing, tiling and bath - it does have the potential to polarise the home, subsequently minimising your buyer pool and ultimately resulting in a lesser price being achieved come auction day,” she says.

While Kylie and Brad announced their break-up on the show, their co-stars Courtney and Grant recently shared a surprising update about their relationship. The House 2 couple confirmed during an interview with HIT WA’s Allan & Carly last week that despite rumours they’ve filed for divorce, Kylie and Brad are still together.

“I have spoken to everyone since and Mimi and Kristian are in a good place and Kylie and Brad I’ve heard are also in a good place,” Courtney said. “They're very much still together. We saw them a couple of weeks ago for an event.”

The radio hosts then asked if there was any “tension” between Kylie and Brad at the aforementioned event, to which Courtney replied: “No, not that I knew. I'm not as close with Kylie, I guess, but we're all still friends and yeah, they're still together. We're all still together!”

This comes shortly after an insider told Yahoo Lifestyle that Kylie has heavily relied on Brad’s support in recent weeks as she deals with the fallout from her ‘edit’.

“At first Kylie was laughing at the silliness of some of her antics on the show but now she has been questioning everything about herself and, surprisingly, Brad of all people has been the one to comfort her,” they shared.

“The relationship was in tatters when they left The Block but this whole experience of watching it back and only having each other as a reference point has actually been quite healing. No one really knows what happened on Phillip Island unless you were there and while many friends thought reliving some of the painful parts of their struggles would split them further apart, it has done the opposite.”
