$29 Kmart gadget being hailed as a "lifesaver" for caravan owners
Ironing is a tedious household chore, but some campers and caravanners are swearing by a Kmart item to keep them looking fresh.
Doing the laundry is rarely anyone's favourite job at the best of times, let alone when you're living in a confined space. So, if any hacks make the household chore more bearable, we're all ears.
Recently, a new caravanner took to a popular Facebook group to find out how to best sort their clothes when travelling, and the feedback that came through from seasoned campers provided numerous viewpoints. Unsurprisingly, several people mentioned that they had found a fix at Kmart.
In life, you're either someone who deeply cares about creases in your clothes or something who barely notices. Personally, I'm the latter — I doubt I've picked up an iron since about 2017, and while my Nonna probably deeply cares if my shorts or dresses have creases in them, I don't even notice. However, not everyone is built with a complete lack of awareness when it comes to their clothes, so one Aussie recently asked fellow caravanners what the most suitable travel-friendly product for keeping your clothes crisp and not like you've just rolled out of bed.

"Looking for recommendations. Setting up our first caravan and wondering what is best for traveling, an iron or a steamer. What do others use?" they asked.
Caravanners debate best product for keeping clothes crease-free
While some said they still pack irons, just as many chimed in to say they rarely use them at all. "We have an iron but rarely use it... Just take clothes off the line and fold," one person said. "We carried a small travel iron for years, never used it," someone else agreed.
"Most caravan park laundries have iron and board so I use that on the rare occasion I iron," another pointed out.
However, many caravanners have jumped on board the trend of packing a compact steamer for their travels, no iron needed.
$29 recommendation from caravanners to make household chore easier
"My friend takes a small steamer," one person shared, with another saying, "I take a hand-held one from Kmart that works well. Admittedly I only use it if something is so creased it’s doing my head in."
The $29 Kmart steamer seemed to have a few fans, with many saying it "works great" and gets used often.
"I have one that I use for travelling and it works great. I have a lot of cotton tops so use it all the time," one person shared. "Bought this last week and used it to steam a linen dress in my van. Worked well. It’s compact but a bit weighty," another added.
And better yet, travellers who were heading off the road and overseas also said the compact steamer came in handy for them.

Kmart fans rave about 'game-changing' steamer
It's not the first time consumers have been left stoked with a Kmart steamer. Priced at just $25 last year, it was touted as an absolute 'game changer' for some shoppers.
"This thing is a game-changer," one person said on TikTok, with another TikTok user and stylist saying the steamer was an absolute time-saver. "This will change your life," she said. "As a personal stylist I really recommend everyone purchase the hand-held steamer."
"Great little steamer perfect for a couple things, heats up so quickly and has been great for travelling," another said.
"Love this steamer. I have a full size one and I actually think this is just as good, and far easier to use! For the price, you definitely can't go wrong," someone else commented. "I was able to do three shirts (one being linen) and it worked beautifully on them."
