Sylvester Stallone Movie Slapped With Shocking 0% Score on Rotten Tomatoes for a Second Time
Sylvester Stallone has had a lot of Hollywood success—in fact, he's managed to have a movie hit the No. 1 spot at the box office at least once every decade since the 1970s.
But commercial success doesn’t always mean critical success, as evidenced by the fact that he’s now had two back-to-back movies get panned so much that they currently have 0% scores on the review aggregation site Rotten Tomatoes.
Stallone’s December 2024 heist movie Armor is currently sitting at 0% on Rotten Tomatoes, and, as pointed out by Men’s Journal, his latest film, thriller Alarum, is in the same boat with nothing but negative reviews.
While Stallone is far and away the biggest name in Armor, Alarum also features Clint Eastwood’s actor son, Scott Eastwood, opposite the Rocky star.
As the outlet pointed out, Rotten Tomatoes bases its tomatometer on an all-or-nothing approach: a lukewarm review leaning toward the negative counts as a pan, whereas if the “fresh” score was based on a numerical or grading system, that review wouldn’t bring the average down as much.
While critical reception to a new movie is likely important to the actor, Stallone may not be as concerned about that given his latest role.
Earlier this month, Donald Trump announced Stallone, Mel Gibson, and Jon Voight as special envoys to Hollywood. The now 47th president explained on social media that he would have them act as ambassadors to the film industry for the “purpose of bringing Hollywood, which has lost much business over the last four years to Foreign Countries, BACK — BIGGER, BETTER, AND STRONGER THAN EVER BEFORE!"
Trump added, "These three very talented people will be my eyes and ears, and I will get done what they suggest. It will again be, like The United States of America itself, The Golden Age of Hollywood.”
The role came as a surprise to Gibson, who said, “I got the tweet at the same time as all of you and was just as surprised. Nevertheless, I heed the call... My duty as a citizen is to give any help and insight I can. Any chance the position comes with an ambassador's residence?”
