Kylie Gillies savages Sunrise's Kochie's 'eggplant' in X-rated segment

Sunrise’s David ‘Kochie’ Koch was left red-faced after throwing to The Morning Show sparked a discussion about his “eggplant”. The star, 66, was discussing the Hollywood blockbuster Babylon on Tuesday when the conversation derailed.

Edwina Bartholomew described the “wild” R-rated film to Kochie and Natalie Barr, before touching on the unscripted kiss between Margot Robbie and Brad Pitt. Kochie couldn’t contain his shock and admitted he had no idea Brad Pitt was in the film.

“Yeah, you wouldn’t know from the billboard, it’s [all] just Margot,” Edwina explained.

Nat was outraged by Kochie’s clueless nature and told him the A-lister pair sat together at the Golden Globes last week.

“Oh, I missed that. I was growing my tomatoes,” Kochie said dismissively.

“I barely believe you are growing your own vegetables,” Nat retorted in a playful way.

“I’ll bring in a photo,” Kochie promised, before Edwina said he should bring the actual vegetables into the studio.

“Funny he’s never brought any in, isn’t it?” Nat asked.

“My strawberries are quite small,” Kochie replied. “And so are the tomatoes, but they’re beautiful and juicy.”

Nat then threw to The Morning Show co-hosts Kylie Gillies and Larry Emdur, but the transition wasn't as smooth as she hoped. Kylie instantly jumped into the vegetable conversation and took an X-rated dig at Kochie.

“Just don’t show us your eggplant, that’s all I ask,” she quipped, before the presenters burst into laughter.

“What does she mean by that? What do you mean?” Kochie ribbed back, daring Kylie to explain her racy joke.

“I’m not partial to an eggplant, but bring me big tomatoes…” Kylie announced.

“How big do you like your eggplant?” Kochie fired out, before the presenters fell into a tense silence. Trying to stop the awkward conversation, Edwina quickly interjected, saying: “I’m partial to an eggplant. I just don’t want to see Kochie’s!”

Larry was mortified by the chat and started to walk away from Kylie. “I’m just gonna take myself out of the frame so when this appears in court, I’m not here,” he quipped.
