Charlize Theron Shares Rare Pic of Two Daughters Amid the LA Wildfires: 'Our Hearts Are Broken'
Charlize Theron is reflecting on the devastating California wildfires that have affected tens of thousands of SoCal residents and first responders.
"Our hearts are broken for our beloved city," the Mad Max actress, 49, captioned a rare photo of her two daughters, Jackson and August, looking toward the Los Angeles skyline via Instagram on Thursday, Jan. 16.
"So deeply grateful to the firefighters and first responders risking their lives to keep us safe, and proud to support @lafdfoundation & @directrelief," she continued. "It’s incredible to see all the ways Angelenos are stepping up to support each other. It’s going to take ALL of us to rebuild. I love you, LA. ❤️#LAStrong."
Followers were quick to offer words of support in the comments section of Theron's post, with one social media user writing, "Love LA forever ❤️ I'll stand by you city of angels, in good times and when the chips are down," while another said, "Unbelievable what is happening to you! Will pray for you!"
A third follower added, "God bless the firefighters and you and your family during this difficult time."
Theron, who adopted Jackson in 2012 and August in 2015, is one of the many celebs issuing statements about the wildfires, which broke out across L.A. County on Jan. 7.
As of publication, more than 12,000 structures have been destroyed, tens of thousands of residents have been displaced and more than 40,000 acres have burned. At least 27 people are dead, per CBS News.
