Kmart fans rush to buy 'impressive' $25 dupe of $190 clothing item before summer: 'So flattering'
Instead of dropping big bucks at Dissh, you can save some serious cash at Kmart.
When it comes to spring/summer style, nothing quite embodies warm weather fashion than a gorgeous sundress. Whether it’s a full skirt or a mini; flowy or fitting, the beauty of the sundress is its versatility.
You can dress it up with kitten heels or pumps and your best jewellery for date night, or pare it back with sneakers and a t-shirt underneath for an effortlessly chic office ensemble. So, if you’re on the hunt for the perfect elevated casual dress (that also won’t break the bank), Kmart shoppers have discovered plenty of cute options in the budget retailer’s spring/summer collection — including a $25 dress that rivals a popular $190 garment from Australian label Dissh.

“It’s impressive how Kmart has managed to capture the essence of current trends while keeping affordability in mind, making them a strong contender against pricier alternatives like Dissh,” creator Zeljka Abaza told Yahoo Lifestyle.
Abaza, who runs the fashion and lifestyle page Styling with Zee, showed off the latest colourful spring arrivals at Kmart in a recent video — including the beautiful buttery yellow iteration of the brand’s Sleeveless Knit Woven Midi Dress.

Like its pricier counterpart — the Mon Scoop Neck Midi Dress from Dissh — the dress features a scooped, sleeveless neckline, and a fully gathered mid-length skirt with a flared hem. Both dresses are composed of fabrics like rayon, cotton and elastane, however the Dissh skirt is also made with 55 per cent linen.
Of course, the Dissh dress is likely to be of higher quality, but it’s hard to argue with the $165 price difference in the current cost of living crisis.
While the Mon dress is only offered in shades of white and chocolate, the Kmart version also comes in black, deep green, baby blue, and the butter yellow seen in Abaza’s video. Plus, it has pockets!
“What I love most about this dress is the lemon colour which is the colour of the season, pockets, versatility and the great quality for the price,” she explained to Yahoo. “The fabric feels lightweight and breathable, perfect for the warmer months.”
And she’s not the only one loving the Kmart sundress dupe — fellow creator Nicola McNamara also took to TikTok to flaunt the black version of the dress, which she styled with a pair of black loafers and a black shoulder bag for a chic monochromatic look.
“So flattering,” one of McNamara’s followers commented on the post.
“Love this dress on you!” another chimed in.
Kmart dress available in more accessible sizes
TikToker Chelsea Williamson highlighted the yellow version of the sundress in a recent video, reaffirming yellow as the trending colour of the moment.
“Yellow is definitely going to be in for summer,” Williamson told her more than 130,000 followers. “This is so cute, obsessed with the yellow.”

The personalised accessories for anyone who loves to make a statement
Abaza added that the beauty of the dress was how easy it was to style — you could pair it with sandals and sunnies for a day look, or dress it up with heels and statement jewellery for an evening event.
“I’m excited to wear mine to summer brunches and casual outings,” she said.
The Kmart sizing is also far more accessible size-wise, ranging from sizes 6 to 20 in the sleeveless midi dress, compared to the Dissh Mon dress which only runs to size 16. With that in mind — run, don't walk to Kmart!
