Kmart shoppers love this $19 kitchen item with over 200 glowing reviews: 'Huge money saver'

We've all got that one spot in our kitchen cupboards that is overflowing with food storage containers (go, on admit it - you do). If you're like me, those containers will be a mishmash of reused takeaway boxes, and not one of them will still have a lid (seriously - WHERE do they go?!).

Often thrown into the mix will be some "proper" food storage boxes but they are almost always plastic which, as we are being increasingly warned, can be full of nasty toxins that we do not want anywhere near the things we eat. So, naturally, more and more of us are trying to find safer alternatives such as glass.

Of course, glass containers can be expensive which is why Kmart shoppers are so excited by a handy $19 find from the budget retailer.

The 5 Piece Glass Storage Set includes 1 x 1 litre container, 1 x 700ml container, 1 x 600ml container, 1 x 450ml container and 1 x 350ml container and customers say that they are sturdy and long-lasting - to the point they have purchased multiple packs.

"Been using them over 12 months.. wouldn't go back to plastic. Have got all sizes and it's great in the microwave," one happy customer wrote in a Facebook group.

"I’ve got multiple packs of these. Have had for over 12 months and love them! Highly recommend," added another.

"Mine have been great ..have had for +12 months," a third person said.

Okay, so we know that these bad boys can last the distance (slay) - but why else were people loving this simple storage solution?
