Roseanne Tells How Trump Hurt Her Feelings After She Turned MAGA
Actress Roseanne Barr, 72, has revealed why she believes President Donald Trump’s inner circle has rejected her despite her becoming a MAGA convert.
The Daily Mail reports that Barr felt that she received the cold shoulder because she is “too unpredictable” and a “loose canon.”
“The Trump staff or whoever runs it, they’re a little afraid of me. I am a loudmouth comedian, so I understand it,” she said. “But it really hurt my feelings.”
Formerly a member of the left and prone to controversial statements, Barr has not moved on from talking about hot-button issues; she just moved right.
She even released a pro-Trump rap video with “conservative rapper” Tom MacDonald. However, this move did not impress Trump’s associates.
Despite Trump’s rejection, Barr has reportedly written a new conservative-friendly comedy with Roseanne producer Allan Stephan, which the Daily Beast described as “totally nuts.”
She described her new project as “offensive” and “silly and out there.” The TV show about a farmer from Alabama who will “save America with guns, the Bible, petty crime, and alcoholism” will contain “a lot of swearing,” says Barr.
The actress said she sees Trump’s victory as reflective of American culture and that Hollywood needs to “get back in touch” with the American people by making shows that will appeal to MAGA.
Barr says if Hollywood won’t help her make her new show that she will do it herself.
