Kmart's $29 portable blender is a new favourite among shoppers and is perfect for those who can't go without their homemade smoothies while camping and caravanning. The blender, which is rechargeable via a USB-C cable, comes in two colours, a white and a sage green, and has a 300ml capacity. So, it's not the biggest blender out there, but certainly a good one in a pinch.

Avid Kmart shoppers have shared their thoughts on the blender. One user wrote on Facebook, "For the price, it's a ripper."

"I haven’t put ice in mine, but it copes fine with frozen berries," another said. "You just need to give it a bit of a shake to get things moving occasionally."

"Love mine," a third agreed.

"Great for the kids while on holidays," one mum said.

The Kmart website reveals that the blender can be used eight to 12 times before recharging and has an "ice crush function". It also comes with a travel lid and can be used for more than just smoothies – it would work for salad dressing, protein shakes, milkshakes or thick shakes, and, our personal favourite, cocktails!

"Handy for camping," one reviewer said on the Kmart website, however, they added, "Good for the price but not quite up to standard."

Others described it as "convenient and functional", though some suggested theirs were "temperamental".

TikTok user @camalita5 shared a review of the product the first time she used it and appeared to think it worked well, but added, "My only problem is, if I'm travelling with it, and I've finished using it, I'd have to carry a bottle to rinse it off."

This is in reference to the fact that the part of the blender with the blades can be taken off, but it's not easy to clean if you don't have the bottle part available to you to add water and dishwashing liquid and cleaning by turning the blender on – which seems to be the most popular way to clean it.

"It would have been cool if there was an extra lid to put on top [of the blades], but other than that, it works great!," she says. "So, Kmart, you're the bomb!"

If you're looking for an alternative, the Ninja Blast Portable Blender retails for around $72.99, a little more than double Kmart's version. Still, it's been described in reviews as "the best portable blender I’ve ever owned" and an "absolute game-changer", as well as "the perfect travel buddy".
