My Kitchen Rules fans think that Janey and Maddie may have been given an unfair advantage in their Instant Kitchen cook.

Following one of the most heartwarming episodes of MKR - which saw Modern Italians Simone and Viviana awarded the highest Instant Kitchen score in the show's history - it was time to switch gears on Tuesday night as Kitchen Queens Janey and Maddie stepped up to the plate. Since joining the cast as gatecrashers, the divisive mother and daughter duo have been ruffling feathers (particularly Lawrence's), leading to much anticipation around their cook.

The pair welcomed everyone to their extravagant Toorak dining room for a black-tie affair - immediately setting high expectations for the evening. Unfortunately for the duo, undercooked entrée and underwhelming main left their guests less than impressed.

After serving undercooked scallops for their entreé, Colin popped in to see Maddie and Janey during the preparation of their main course – Duck breast with Beetroot and Cherry Sauce – and advised them to double taste everything and not overthink the plating compared to the flavour as “that’s what happened with the entrée.”

The move was met with criticism from some fans who felt it was "unfair" for Colin to have leant advice that could potentially give the team a leg up.

"I think it is an unfair advantage for Colin to give taste-changing advice," one viewer wrote on Facebook.

"100% agree," a couple of people replied.

"Exactly," said another.

"I agree the judges shouldn't have gone into the kitchen last night, Colin gave them too much info on their cooking. That's wrong let them cook their own way, then judge their dishes," was another comment.

"Yeah, the judges may as well cook for them!!!!," someone else wrote.

Other people weren't as phased by Colin giving Janey and Maddie advice as they noted it hadn't done much good.

"Didn't make much difference, did it?" one person quipped.

"Didn’t help them any," another said. "Maybe if they pulled the stick out of their arse and stop thinking they are better than everyone else maybe a good start."

"Didn’t make a difference. They didn’t cook very well." someone else added.

Others pointed out that it is not completely out of character for the judges to give a small helping hand when they walk into the kitchens.

"They always say something to help when they visit the kitchen," one viewer reminded.

"They both do it at times," another said.

"The judges probably do that for every group. I'm sure it's just edited to suit," someone else suggested.

In the end, Colin's words of wisdom were not enough to save Maddie and Janey who ended the night with just 65 out of 110 - placing them bottom of the leaderboard.
