MAFS' Jamie targeted in bizarre X-rated scam that could happen to any Aussie
EXCLUSIVE: A social media manager says the incident should serve as a warning to all Instagram users.
Just as she’s emerging as a fan favourite bride on this year’s season of Married At First Sight, Jamie Marinos has found herself the victim of a bizarre X-rated scam. The 28-year-old has had her identity stolen in an attempt to trick people into buying explicit pictures and videos they believe are of her.
Yahoo Lifestyle can reveal that an Instagram account was set up in November 2022 using her full name and selfies stolen from her personal social media. These photos had been reposted to promote an account on the adult subscription website Fansly, in which somebody was pretending that Jamie was running and sharing explicit content.
“Subscribe now and enjoy my uncensored scenes,” the scammer wrote in one post.

Another Instagram Story which had been added as a Highlight to the account showed an explicit clip of a woman appearing to pleasure herself with a sticker covering her privates to entice people to subscribe to see the full scene, believing it is Jamie.
Warning to all Aussies
Since making her debut on MAFS last week, the page had begun recirculating amongst fans who believed Jamie was behind it.
A source close to the bride tells Yahoo Lifestyle: “She was not behind the page and has been reporting it for years to try and get Instagram to remove it. It only got removed a couple of days ago as it started getting widely shared and mass reported, despite it having been inactive for three years.”
A social media manager also tells Yahoo Lifestyle that this “should be a warning” to all Aussies to keep their social media accounts on private.
“You never know who is going to steal your name and image, often with you having no idea,” they share.

This comes shortly after Daily Mail revealed that Jamie, along with Rhi Disljenkovic, Morena Farina, Jeff Gobbels and Adrian Araouzou, had been ‘shadow-banned’ on Instagram - meaning they were “virtually invisible” to fans hoping to follow them on social media.
The publication said this is likely because their accounts had been flagged as “suspicious” due to “a large influx in activity”.
