Leaked MAFS photos reveal twist behind Jeff and Rhi's romance: 'Completely different'

After tying the knot and attending their first dinner party, this season’s Married At First Sight couples are set to take their relationships to the next level during Tuesday night’s episode when they move in together. The cast will once again be living in neighbouring apartments at One Global Resorts in Sydney’s Green Square as they take part in various tasks from the experts and settle into married life.

Yahoo Lifestyle has obtained pictures taken on August 7 when the brides and grooms moved into their new accommodation and it appears what viewers will watch on television may not be entirely accurate.

Jeff Gobbels and Rhi Disljenkovic, who briefly dated in 2023 before being reunited on the reality show, were one of the first couples to arrive and both looked downcast as they wheeled their luggage towards the building’s main entrance where cameras were waiting to capture them walking inside.

An onlooker tells Yahoo Lifestyle: “As soon as they then stepped into the building and the cameras were rolling they both had huge smiles and seemed completely different.”

After unpacking upstairs, the couple later stepped out to a nearby supermarket and still looked downcast. However, as soon as they noticed they were being photographed they began laughing while flashing a peace sign to the paparazzi and playing up to the camera.

Surprising moment cut from Jeff and Rhi's wedding

Jeff and Rhi’s sudden change in demeanour is similar to what leaked paparazzi pictures revealed from their wedding day on July 25.

Immediately after sharing their first kiss as husband and wife and walking off together, the exes quickly stopped holding hands and appeared unimpressed at being reunited.

Producers then separated the pair for private off-camera chats, with their body language again suggesting they were not happy to be blindsided by the reunion. However, after a brief production break, filming resumed and they were back to smiling and acting loved-up.

How do Jeff and Rhi already know each other?

A source tells Yahoo Lifestyle that the pair were seeing each other in mid-2023 after being introduced by a mutual friend, Australian Survivor star and TV presenter Abbey Holmes, but “never became official”.

Instagram posts shared during their time together show Jeff interacting with all of Rhi’s stunning selfies, and Yahoo Lifestyle can reveal that they also followed each other on Instagram before their MAFS wedding.

Since parting ways, the pair “kept in touch” and still attended the same group classes at their shared gym, Hurt Locker Richmond.
