My Kitchen Rules 2024 took viewers on a journey to Perth on Tuesday night as young couple Hannah and Lawrence tried their hand at impressing judges Colin Fassnidge and Manu Feildel, as well as their fellow chefs. The stakes on this cook were particularly high, considering Lawrence has said that he will propose to Hannah if they win the whole competition. So yeah, Hannah was realllly keen to do a good job.

Sadly, they scored just 68 out of 110 after their entrée of croquettes de fromage with ginger brussel sprouts and jamon and jalapeno aioli failed to impress, as did their dessert - of baked apples with brandy caramel and cinnamon ice cream. It wasn't all doom and gloom though as their main dish scored a nine from Manu and eight from Colin, with Manu asking, "How are you able to cook an amazing piece of lamb like this?”

Despite the pair's opposing ways of operating in the kitchen (Hannah’s “chaos and freedom" against Lawrence’s “order and stability”) causing a few tense moments, the loved-up couple still piled on the affection for each other - to the point that many viewers found it all a bit much.

In particular, several MKR fans found themselves irritated by the lovebirds' incessant use of the word "babe."

"God they're both annoying me by saying 'babe' over and over. It's like they were both related to [former MKR contestants] Ashlee & Sophia," one fed-up viewer wrote online.

"So last night was all 'bro' and 'sis' and tonight is all 'babe'", another wrote - referring to Townsville siblings Danny and Sonia.

"Wish they would stop with the 'babe'", another person wrote.

"I am seriously babed out, stop already," yet another viewer complained.

Other comments included, "OMG if I hear 'babe' one more time I'm gunna scream!!!" and, my personal favourite, "Take a shot for every ‘babe’ .. drunk by first course."

In spite of Hannah and Lawrence's ordinary score, it seems that they are safe for now, thanks to an ad that spoiled the fact they are in next week's episode.

"As per the ad spoilers last night. Looks like they'll be fine," one person pointed out on Facebook.

"So thanks for the spoilers there in the ad guys #MKR," another viewer said on X.

"The last thing @Channel7 needs before the Instant Restaurant results are revealed is to drop a teaser for next week's Second Instant Restaurant... and immediately, I knew Hannah and Lawrence were safe. Way to ruin the surprise... #MKR," another annoyed fan added.
