Sabrina Carpenter's Grammys Dress Looked A Whole Lot Like This Iconic Gown Worn By Shirley MacLaine In 1964, So Here's A Side-By-Side
Sabrina Carpenter had a big night at the Grammys.
The Short n' Sweet singer received two awards from her six nominations.
Her mega-hit song "Espresso" was named Best Pop Solo Performance.
And the album on which the song appears, Short n' Sweet, won Best Pop Vocal Album.
In typical fashion, Sabrina walked the red carpet in a sexy mid-century-inspired dress that recalled other legendary stars' looks of the past.
As you might recall, she wore a Bob Mackie gown to the VMAs last year. The same dress was previously worn by Madonna in 1991. The inspiration for Madonna's dress was Marilyn Monroe.

Sabrina once again appeared to reference a celeb that came before her on the red carpet Sunday night in her JW Anderson gown.
Sabrina's backless baby blue dress with a sparkling pendant draped across her back recalled Shirley MacLaine's memorable look in the 1964 film What a Way to Go!

While neither Sabrina nor JW Anderson has directly said Shirley in What a Way to Go! was a reference, she nailed the interpretation...intentionally or not.
