MAFS editing fail savagely called out by comedian: 'No way I don't believe it'
Matt Okine has uncovered yet another post-production gaffe from the experiment.
It's no secret that Married at First Sight Australia is known for its editing fails - such as Lauren Dunn’s glass of “green” wine and the bizarre way 'time' seems to work in the experiment. Now, comedian and actor Matt Okine has pointed out yet another editing faux pas during the recent homestays.
Drawing attention to a scene in which Jayden and Eden share a meal with Jayden's family, Matt chuckles as he says, "If you want to know how real reality TV is, watch this sequence from MAFS. Watch the plates. Oh! Where's the food gone? No food. Oh, the food's there! Oh, now they're all eating."
The stand-up is spot on as it's clear that the food comes and goes throughout the scene.

"Oh, no food," he continues. "All gone. Oh, but now there's food again. Oh, now there's no food. Now there is food. Are you eating or not? Oh, no, you're not."
His video, which had already been viewed over 20,000 times within ten hours of posting, was met with plenty of comments from fellow MAFS fans who said they had also noticed the gaffe.
"Yep was yelling same things!," one person wrote. "Oh dishes are done, oh now eating..Dishes done again!"
Another quipped "MAFS is edited? No way I don’t believe it!"
"Honestly though, the editors deserve a pay rise," one person rather generously said. "To be able to chop and change like that and maintain a consistent and logical conversation is quite something."
Bizarre editing fail on Lauren Dunn exposed
At the very start of season 11, Yahoo Lifestyle revealed that this year producers had done something entirely new to help create the narrative that Lauren Dunn was a “party girl” who loves getting wild.
During the first episode of the season, viewers were shocked to see footage of the bride drinking wine from a wine glass as she was being interviewed.
The shot of Lauren stopping her story mid-sentence, while chatting about a recent “messy” trip to Bali, to drink from her wine glass helped establish from her first introduction to viewers that she loves a good time.

Yet upon closer inspection, it appears the liquid was actually water that had been changed to green to resemble alcohol during the editing process. Using Photoshop, Yahoo Lifestyle desaturated the shot to change the image back to water, with an insider telling Yahoo Lifestyle: “Alcohol consumption is very closely monitored on reality TV, especially a show like this. It'd be highly unlikely they'd have someone drinking during a casual sit-down interview in the day like this, although not entirely impossible.”
