Kmart shoppers rush to buy new $20 knitwear staples: 'I’ll take one of everything'
The pieces come in a range of cosy, autumnal colours
Australia has snapped into Autumn weather as metropolitan streetscapes transform into a flurry of coats, boots, scarves and knitwear. If you’re yet to organise your winter wardrobe ahead of the cooler months, discount retailer Kmart has recently unveiled its April collection – complete with trans-seasonal knitwear and accessories ideal for layering.
And in good news for shoppers on a budget, nothing is over $25. The chic everyday pieces are already gaining traction on social media, with stylist and influencer Sarah Stroziky showcasing to her Instagram two outfits created from a base of the Rib Column skirt in a dark grape colour, and the long sleeve True Knit Scoop Neck Top in muted rose – both available for $20 a pop.
Both items also come in a slate grey colour, while the long sleeve is stocked in chocolate brown and soft khaki as well.
“Gorgeous! Love the Autumn colours,” a commenter wrote under Stroziky’s post.

Stroziky styled the pieces with black ankle boots, a black leather jacket and accessories, as well as a second look by pairing them with a brown kitten heel and matching belt and tote bag.
Trans-seasonal knitwear takes social media by storm
Other influencers have also shared their styling tips from the new range, including stylist Caitlin Taylor who showed off several pieces to her 18,000 Instagram followers such as the long sleeve Boat Neck Midi Dress in muted rose. Taylor styled the dress with other Kmart items already in her wardrobe, including a light denim shacket (shirt jacket), retro-style black sneakers and a black bucket bag. She also wasn’t afraid to mix and match colours, pairing the dark grape rib skirt with the brand’s viral $15 Button Through cardigan in a pastel lavender shade.
Her followers were quick to express their love for the looks, with one commenter writing “I love them all, I’ll take one of everything thanks!” and others stating that the ensembles were “fantastic”, “amazing” and “fab”.
"I love these!" wrote one excited shopper. "Off to check out their website now."
Stylist Lisa Galanopoulos also took to Instagram to show off the ribbed midi dress in a muted blue tone, which she styled with white knee-high white and a matching long, fluffy coat – which her followers described as “so gorgeous” in the comments. The dress can be worn as an autumn and winter staple, perfect for layering up or down. Plus, it’s only $25.
The budget autumn range even blew up on TikTok after influencer @eliseinspired shared a haul video to the app that racked up over 16,000 views. Elise highlighted the sage green pieces including the knit midi dress, knit cami tops and even a sage green and cream canvas tote bag she described as “amazing”. Elise suggested styling the items with denim jeans or a denim jacket.
