Shortly after announcing the exciting news that they are expecting their first child together, The Bachelor’s Jimmy Nicholson and Holly Kingston have opened up about their difficult journey to pregnancy. The couple, who met while filming the ninth season of the reality show in 2021 and tied the knot last year, shared a video on Monday documenting the moment their “lives changed forever”.

Set to Coldplay’s ‘Fix You’ (which is already guaranteed to bring the tears), the emotional footage shows Holly reacting to her positive pregnancy test alone in the bathroom before showing it to Jimmy. After taking a few seconds to process the news, Jimmy hugs his wife and bursts into tears.

Holly shared a lengthy caption alongside the video revealing that their journey to this positive result “certainly wasn’t a walk in the park”.

“Nothing could've prepared us for the lack of control, the pressure, the disappointment and overwhelming isolation that we felt,” she wrote. “Every time we saw one of these posts, no matter how happy we wanted to be for those on the receiving end... it stung.”

The reality star went on to say that she and Jimmy made a promise to themselves that they would be open about their struggle if they eventually fell pregnant “in the hopes it might make some feel less alone”.

“For those looking at this right now experiencing infertility or loss, we see you & from the bottom of our hearts hope a little miracle comes your way too,” she added. “Sending so much love and thanks for the support on our biggest adventure yet.”

Jimmy and Holly’s post was quickly flooded with messages from people who could relate to their struggle, with many agreeing that the video brought tears to their eyes.

“Memories came flooding back of 10 years of trying, disappointment, heartache and loss. And then a day like this when you can hardly believe what that little white stick shows you,” one person shared.

“You grow up being taught how to not get pregnant. Then when you’re ready - you have no idea how hard and emotional it can be!” another remarked.

“Thank you for sharing this wonderful news with all of us. I’m currently going through the IVF journey & a recent loss so seeing stories like yours gives me hope for the future,” someone else replied, while a different user said, “Thank you for your kind words, I definitely needed to read them!”.
