Bachelor star hits back at pregnancy criticism: 'Annoying'

Sophie Tieman recently announced her second pregnancy but a handful of backhanded compliments has caused the reality star to speak out.

Former Bachelor star Sophie Tieman recently announced her second pregnancy, after giving birth to her first daughter Arabella in October last year.

Sophie, who starred in the infamous 2018 season of The Bachelor featuring Nick 'Honey Badger' Cummins, uploaded an Instagram reel where she turned around while at the beach, flaunting her new baby bump.

While her Instagram post was flooded with positive comments, Sophie recently uploaded a story calling out the backhanded compliments she's been receiving due to her pregnancies being close together.

"So I'm just reading through the comments on the reveal video, and it's funny, like 99.9% are so nice but there's the smallest handful of women who are really annoying," Sophie said.

"Not mean or anything, I just don't understand why people love to throw comments around pregnancy, who are clearly impacted by their own experiences and aren't very positive," she continued.

Sophie then explained that some of the comments she received offered backhanded praise that she didn't feel contributed to the overall discussion about the joys and hardships of pregnancy and being a mother.

She went on to say unless people ask for advice, just let them enjoy the experience.

"When you fall pregnant, it's like you've opened your arms to everyone's advice, comments, stuff like that, but actually I haven't," she said.
