The drama has been continuing on MKR this week as contestants Janey and Lawrence continue to butt heads over the dinner table. While 'Fussy Friends' Mike and Pete hoped to improve relations between their warring diners by way of an actual olive branch, their Instant Restaurant instead became the setting for one of the more uncomfortable scenes of the 2024 season.

The tension boiled over at the table as Janey and Maddie aka The Kitchen Queens - prodded their fellow contestants to reveal what had been said about their food after their disastrous Instant Restaurant the night before. The mother and daughter team were sceptical about Lawrence’s sincerity and told the table they felt the score for their Instant Restaurant was too low. Janey was convinced they were judged unfairly by Lawrence - accusing him of focusing on their personalities rather than their food.

As everyone looked on uncomfortably, Lawrence finally admitted he had referred to their meal as "arrogance on a plate" - prompting the mother and daughter duo to leave the table in anger.

The move was derided by fans who felt that Janey and Maddie shouldn't have been so insistent on knowing what was said if they couldn't handle the answer.

"Tonight she actually wanted an argument.....she asked what happened.....she started it & then couldn't handle it & made a scene & walked out," one viewer wrote of the drama.

"She shouldn’t have pushed and pushed if she did want to hear what was said. Janey, you are arrogant and a snob. Grow up," another added.

"It is all about the drama," a third viewer weighed in. "Why did Janey poke the bear and push to get Lawrence to tell her what he thought? She is arrogant."

"She baited Lawrence. She wanted a blow-up so she could put the blame for her shocking results on him. She should stop blaming Lawrence and listen to the judge's comments," another fan wrote.

Other fans noted that it was funny that Janey and Maddie were so upset by Lawrence's words when he had actually scored them higher than any of the the other guests.

"Ironic as Lawrence had scored them higher than the other teams on the night of their restaurant," someone said. "They were scored on their dishes by the judges and still had the audacity to say they were scored too low. Spoilt, entitled brats both of them."

"They keep harping on about unfair scoring and people judging on their personality. Correct me if I'm wrong, but Lawrence gave them the highest score," another viewer recalled.

"If somehow they get through I’ll stop watching this show," someone else threatened. "Be great if they told them what everyone scored and they found out Lawrence scored them the best out of the lot."

There were several other viewers who wondered why judges Manu Feildel and Colin Fassnidge hadn't stepped in to break up the squabbling, with many noting just how "ridiculous" it's all becoming.

"I totally agree it’s way, way OTT & the judges should step in. It’s truly ruining the show. I for one am getting sick of MKR worst year ever," one disgruntled viewer wrote.

"They probably weren’t even there," another suggested. "I’ve seen from past contestants where they actually leave the table between meals and aren’t at the table the entire night. That’s why they don’t show the head of the table with some angles. So it’s probably going on when they aren’t there."

"Reason I couldn’t stand to watch it. Just stick to the freakin cooking," yet another person said.

"I'm considering turning the show off - l hate the constant bickering," was another response.

"The producers of these shows encourage the drama to draw in an audience. That's why I stopped watching The Block a few years back. Some people love the drama though, and that's why they do it," was another comment while several others simply said "Ratings."
