MAFS bride Carina's extensive TV appearances before the reality show

This year’s season is filled with familiar faces.

It’s no secret that not every participant goes on Married At First Sight with the sole purpose of finding love. With previous brides and grooms launching successful businesses, earning hundreds of thousands of dollars on OnlyFans, or going on to appear in other reality shows after MAFS, many people rush to get married on national TV in the hopes that it will boost their profile.

It appears this may be the case for Carina Mirabile, who tied the knot with Paul Antoine during Monday night's episode. Yahoo Lifestyle can reveal that the 31-year-old digital marketing manager is an aspiring television presenter with extensive on-screen experience.

Carina has a bachelor's degree in broadcast journalism from Edith Cowan University and a diploma in fashion design and textiles. She has lived and studied in both the US and the UK and has completed a handful of acting classes at WAAPA (West Australian Academy of Performing Arts) where Hugh Jackman famously studied.

Her website describes herself as “just a girl from Western Australia with ambition and dreams to excel in the entertainment world”.

Following her MAFS debut on Monday night, many viewers took to social media to question why Carina looked so familiar to them - apart from being Kim Kardashian’s doppelgänger.

People might recognise the Italian-born bride from her appearances in a variety of TV commercials, including one for her family’s business Beyond Tools which aired on Channel Seven.

She also had a small role in the Channel Seven miniseries The Claremont Murders in 2023, featured in the music video for Sidhu Bhammeala’s song ‘Boss’ in 2021, and appeared as an extra in the MTV reality show Love & Hip Hop in 2018 while living in New York City.

Carina also auditioned to be the host of E! News Australia in 2014, interned at Seven in 2016, and has emceed various events in Perth.

Carina certainly isn’t the only participant on this year's season of MAFS who has TV experience under her belt, with her ‘husband’ Paul previously appearing on Channel 10’s short-lived reality show The Real Love Boat in 2022.

Sierah Swepstone also appeared on Jimmy Nicholson’s season of The Bachelor in 2021, while intruder groom Teejay Halkias competed on Big Brother in 2023.

Meanwhile, Yahoo Lifestyle revealed in July that Jeff Gobbels appeared in three episodes of Neighbours in 2017 as police officer Kurt Bridges.
