Footage of MAFS' Paul Antoine in another reality dating show resurfaces
Will it be second time lucky for the charming French man?
If new Married At First Sight groom Paul Antoine looks a little familiar, it's because he's definitely been on our screens before, featuring in reality show The Real Love Boat that aired on Channel 10 in 2022 to a lacklustre reception.
As he read his vows to his new bride Carina in French, it's not the first time the smooth French man has used his native language to flirt, with an unearthed clip showing him speaking French to fellow The Real Love Boat contestant Courtney, before leaning in for a kiss.
MAFS' Paul's second shot at love on reality TV
On his bio for The Real Love Boat, Paul stated he wanted to find his 'perfect partner' with the most important qualities being someone with "a down-to-Earth nature and someone who is beautiful on the inside and out”.

Fans of the show swooned at Paul and Courtney's kiss with someone saying, "Seriously if you catch this guy, you would not throw him overboard," and someone else saying, "He's so lovely". It goes without saying, things didn't quite work out with Paul and Courtney on the show, so will it be second time lucky for the reality star?
Fans react to Paul's reality TV past
Despite The Love Boat's poor ratings, a few fans said they had recognised Paul immediately and many also said they were none too impressed that a former reality show contestant was back for round two on a different series.
"I knew Paul’s face the minute the ads started. The love boat he was all about real love and blah blah blah," one viewer ranted. Now matched with someone he already knew and 'ghosted' come on guys and don’t even get me started on Eliot! Hope that flop does leave, don’t let the door hit you on the way out ya clown."
"Oh my goodness!!! Would be nice if the show could be genuine for just once and have real people looking for love. Not just people wanting to try and get their five minutes of fame. In my opinion!!!," another said.
"I thought this season was going to be people that actually were looking for love not self promotion," another viewer lamented.
Reality stars knew each other before wedding day
During the MAFS premiere episode, Paul opened up to John Aiken about being cheated on in a former relationship, and it was later revealed Paul and his new wife Carina knew each other after meeting on a dating app eight months previously, with Paul ghosting her after their first date.
Paul later apologised to Carina after their wedding, saying he felt like he had been given a second chance at winning her over after saying he had been going through a difficult time when they initially met.

“We both weren’t in the right headspace and dealing with our past, but time has passed,” Carina said after his apology. “We’ve both healed. We’ve worked on ourselves - I definitely have - so I’m good now, no hard feelings.”
