Kmart shoppers go wild for 'cute' $10 retro bag: 'Core memory was just unlocked'

If you're a sucker for a bit of nostalgia and also love a good bargain, then one shopper's recent Kmart find might just be for you. The happy customer took to an online group to share her purchase and even demonstrated how she'd taken a different Kmart item to create something truly unique.

The shopper shared a photo of herself rocking a little purple shoulder bag, reminiscent of the Jelly bags that were all the rave in the 80s and early 90s. As we know, 90s fashion is big right now and the retro look of this customer's little bag captures the playfulness of the jelly trend perfectly.

"I loved these bags when I was a kid!" the original poster wrote. "It came as part of a stationery set. I added the faux pearl phone strap to give me the option of wearing it on my shoulder. I'm feeling so nostalgic."

The post was met with a number of comments from shoppers who were taken on their own trips down memory lane at the sight of the little 'purse.'

"Reminds me of my childhood," one person wrote.

"Same. I wish I kept mine," said someone else.

"Omg I remember those!" added another. "Just need some purple Jellies sandals."

"Love this so cute," someone else enthused.

"Aaaah core memory was just unlocked," said another.

One person even weighed in with some helpful advice about how else the bag can be purposed when not in use as a fashion accessory.

"Cute! They’re great as little shower caddies when you go camping too," they suggested.

"So true that's what I used mine for as a child," someone else replied.

And for fashion fans looking to get their own hit of nostalgia, the price of the bag will surely be well received at just $10 (plus, you get all of that stationery too!).
