Nicole Kidman 'ready' to jump on a flight for Deborra-Lee amid Hugh Jackman divorce

Nicole Kidman has reportedly found herself in a tricky spot in the wake of Deborra-Lee Furness and Hugh Jackman's split, as she struggles over who to prioritise during this tough time. Hugh and Deborra-Lee confirmed they had split in September 2023, and around a year later, rumours began swirling that he was dating his former Broadway co-star and friend of 20 years, Sutton Foster.

Hugh and Sutton's relationship was confirmed when photos of them holding hands, and later video of a steamy kiss, were released. Meanwhile, it's also been revealed that Hugh and Deborra-Lee have yet to finalise their divorce because they didn't have a prenup and must now divide up their estimated $250m fortune.

Nicole Kidman 'worried' for friend Deborra-Lee

Now, an insider has revealed to New Idea that Nicole, who co-starred with Hugh in Baz Luhrmann's Australia, is particularly "worried" about Deborra-Lee.

"Nicole knows Hugh is going to be fine – he has the best team of handlers in Hollywood and he’s in the throes of his new romance," the insider says. "He doesn’t need her right now, so for Nicole, the focus is on Deb and she’s worried about her more than anything else."

Nicole and Deborra-Lee have been friends since the early 90s, when the Babygirl star would crash on Deb's couch in LA while trying to land her big break.

The actress has previously thanked both Hugh and Deborra-Lee for "healing" her after her painful divorce from Tom Cruise.

The source adds that Nicole is "determined to get her through what really is an emotionally traumatic time", adding that she is ready to jump on a flight and be by Deb's side at "any time".

"Deb puts on a tough front but losing Hugh to a younger actress is her worst nightmare come true," the insider says, adding that Deb "expects" Nicole will also continue to support Hugh as well.

While this is tough for Nicole, she has been through this several times with friends including Naomi Watts and Liev Schreiber, making her the perfect person to support both Hugh and Deborra-Lee.

It comes after reports Hugh and Deborra-Lee, who were married for 27 years, are struggling to finalise their breakup.

It's been reported that Hugh and Deborra-Lee have yet to actually file for divorce as they didn't have a prenup in place, making things much harder. Insiders believe that the split may get "messy" as they attempt to divide their estimated $250m fortune.

The pair first announced their split to People with a statement that read: "We have been blessed to share almost 3 decades together as husband and wife in a wonderful, loving marriage. Our journey now is shifting and we have decided to separate to pursue our individual growth.

"Our family has been and always will be our highest priority," the statement continued. "We undertake this next chapter with gratitude, love, and kindness. We greatly appreciate your understanding in respecting our privacy as our family navigates this transition in all of our lives."

According to Daily Mail, insiders claim that Hugh and Deborra-Lee were working towards filing for divorce before Christmas, but this didn't happen.

"One of the biggest reasons why they haven’t yet filed is that they never had a prenup," an insider claims. "When they got married, they thought it would be forever. Who doesn’t? At the time, neither of them expected Hugh’s career to get as enormous as it has."

"Because there was no prenup, and he made a fortune during their marriage, this divorce is not going to be cut and dry. It may even get messy because the stakes are high," they add. "A lot of moving parts need to be worked out and there is a huge amount of money involved."

While the pair want to "make it as easy as possible", it hasn't turned out that way given they are "no longer friends".

"They put their differences aside to co-parent and he cares a lot about is children," they add.
