Ariana Grande's secret gesture to Aussie fans in Sydney: 'Security breach'
The Wicked actress made a surprising decision when staying at Crown Sydney.
Ariana Grande became the latest A-list celebrity to check into Crown Sydney’s Presidential Villa this weekend while visiting Australia for the world premiere of Wicked. Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce notably spent a week in the same $38,000-a-night suite earlier this year when she brought her Eras Tour Down Under in February.
The luxury hotel in Barangaroo has become the go-to spot for any global superstar visiting Sydney thanks to its high-level security measures and guaranteed privacy. Yet whereas Taylor and Travis were never detected within the hotel and were able to avoid all public areas - arriving and exiting via a security-patrolled underground carpark and taking a private elevator directly up to their room – Ariana’s stay was very different.

Yahoo Lifestyle can reveal the actress and singer declined the extreme measures available to go unseen so she could interact with fans who had camped outside.
“Ariana and her team were advised against using the public entrances as it could be a security issue, but she insisted so she could thank her fans for coming to see her,” a hotel source tells us.
“After checking in on Saturday she even went for a walk around the lobby and along Barangaroo where she stopped to take selfies with anyone who stopped her.”
Aussie fan's encounter with Ariana goes viral
Ariana also made sure to meet plenty of fans on Sunday when she attended the Wicked premiere at the State Theatre alongside her co-stars Cynthia Erivo, Jeff Goldblum, Jonathan Bailey, Marissa Bode and Ethan Slater.
One encounter has since gone viral on TikTok and racked up over six million views after a fan, who had camped outside the theatre since 8pm the night before, asked Ariana to give her a tattoo.
The fan, Hayley (@hayley.pariss), requested that the Yes And? hitmaker write something “special” on her arm that she would subsequently get tattooed permanently.
“What do you want me to write?” Ariana asked, to which Hayley replied, “Whatever you want, something special to me”.
“Why, is it going permanently?” Ariana enquired, looking slightly concerned. “Are you sure? Are you sure you want that?”
She then wrote ‘I love you’ on Hayley’s arm, adding: “You don’t have to do it if you don’t like it. It’s a little lopsided."

Another fan named Ryan (@ryanb.16) also posted a video asking Ariana to tattoo his hand on the red carpet, to which she replied: “Is this a tattoo shop?!”
She ended up signing a small heart on his right hand and said ‘I love you’ as she moved on to the next fan.
