Summer in Australia means one thing. Barbecues, outdoor entertaining and sundowners around the pool. With the evenings getting longer and warmer we’re on the cusp of that already and, for anyone having a party or organising a gathering, it’s time to start thinking about what you’ll need.

Drinks are high on the agenda and, while tap water used to be a given, many people have begun to think twice about drinking from the tap in recent years.

Worries about the taste and chemicals in tap water have got people reaching for the alternative and, having guests to entertain, this becomes even more of a concern.

But, as the cost of living pinches surely there’s a better way to save money on water so you can spend it on something more tasty?

We’ve found a solution and that comes in the form of a brand new glass jug from global water filtration expert, Brita.

The filter in the new jug is scientifically proven to reduce synthetic “forever chemicals” in tap water by at least 80 per cent and, made from 100 per cent premium borosilicate glass, the jug itself doesn’t absorb odours or taste.

It can also filter up to 150 litres of tap water, which is a huge saving when compared to that amount of bottled water and it’s better for the environment with fewer carbon emissions per litre of water than bottled and much less waste.

Reviewers are quick to applaud the new design with the majority giving five stars for water taste and quality.

“This thing makes filtering water feel like an upscale experience,” read one. “In most cities, filtering your water is non-negotiable, and I've definitely noticed an improvement in taste with Brita.

"It's like going from tap sludge to mountain spring purity. It’s also a breeze to clean, and you won't have to deal with those unsightly scratches that plastic carafes develop over time.”

“It filters tap water making it very light and finally pleasant on the palate. I stopped buying bottled water because I don't see the need for it anymore,” said another.

One of the most important things for your entertaining event is the way the table looks and the bods at Brita have thought of that too.

Not only is the Brita glass jug stylish in its own right but it’s been paired with a free, limited-edition coaster from premium homewares brand, In the Roundhouse.

The blue and white ceramic coaster fits the jug perfectly, elevating something that’s a very practical piece to something stylish and conversation-worthy in your dining area.
