Taylor Swift Resentment Loud and Clear in NFL's Post Featuring Hailee Steinfeld
The NFL's dads, brads and chads are once again taking aim at Taylor Swift—and this time, Hailee Steinfeld is getting dragged into it.
Steinfeld, who is engaged to the Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen, appeared in a video interview shared to the NFL's Instagram grid on Tuesday, Jan. 28, following the New York-based team's loss to the Kansas City Chiefs over the weekend.
Although Steinfeld, 28, gushed over her fiancé in the clip, tons of fans in the comments used the post as a chance to bash Swift and her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, seemingly trying to compare the two WAGs (wives and girlfriends) and pit them against each other.
Instagram users flooded comments with messages like, "Hailee over Taylor 🙌" and "Rather see her than swift," while other users argued, "[Steinfeld and Allen] is the relationship nfl fans would rather hear about."
"More Hailee less Taylor pls," another comment read.
Someone else wrote to the NFL, "Finally, you talk about another couple besides Taylor and Kelce."
Ever since the "Anti-Hero" songstress began dating Kelce in 2023, there has been no shortage of criticism aimed at the couple. Swift, 35, in particular, has garnered the ire of many football fans because of the NFL frequently showing her onscreen during Chiefs game coverage.
But as Swifties already know, Swift can always count on her fans to fiercely defend her, with many of her supporters taking to the comments on the NFL's Instagram to advocate for her.
"The way NFL fans bully Taylor Swift is so embarassing [sic]," one user commented. "She doesn't do anything but support her boyfriend."
"Yall complain about seeing posts about taylor, but when one isn't about her, you bring her up??? 💀," someone else argued.
Others pointed out that haters seemed to be trying to pit Swift and Steinfeld against one another, even though the two women have been known to be friends in the past. Steinfeld even appeared in Swift's music video for her hit song "Bad Blood" in 2015.
"Why do people feel the need to constantly compare others?" one user claimed.
Another commenter added, "Here to see the fragile men try to pit Hailee against Taylor when in reality they are friends and don't give an eff what your opinion."
