Every caravan enthusiast knows that while life on the road has many perks — all the amazing places you get to see, the friends you make along the way, and the fact it can be a money-saving way to holiday — there are also some downsides to caravan life and a lot of that can revolve around the whole storage issue.

While there are many storage and cleaning hacks for caravan owners, travelling, cooking and cleaning in a compact space isn't always a walk in the park. But thankfully there are a lot of online tips and tricks shared by other caravan enthusiasts that can save people a lot of time, money and space.

One caravanner has shared the ultimate kitchen hack, after finding a budget buy at The Reject Shop. Taking to a popular caravan storage and hacks group on Facebook, they shared the $14 kitchen item that has helped make their lives much easier, with the extendable dish rack being widely praised amongst other caravanners.

"Found this neat little extendable dish rack at the reject shop. I wanted something that would drain back into the sink. I can store this in the sink when travelling or being tidy!" the original poster said. "I also added a Kmart rubber sink trivet."

When one caravanner asked if it was sturdy enough, the original poster said, "Look I wouldn’t call it sturdy, but there is just the two of us, so we only keep 4 plates, cups etc etc so it won’t be 'flogged'. If I get a couple of years out of it I will be happy."
