More and more Aussies are hitting the open roads in their caravans or campervans in search of adventure and sweet, sweet freedom. In a time when travelling to exotic overseas spots is out of the question for many people, caravanning is a great way to escape the hustle and, bonus, you get to explore your own big backyard!

As any caravan owner can tell you, there are some inevitable annoyances that can take the joy out of jumping in your home on wheels and seeing where the wind takes you. One such annoyance? Things clinking together in the fridge while you drive!

Imagine trying to concentrate on not getting lost in the middle of nowhere while there's a sound akin to haunted windchimes bouncing around the interior of your vehicle. No thanks.

Luckily, a savvy Kmart shopper has found a great solution that only costs $1.75 and their fellow caravan enthusiasts are keen to jump on board.

"They are also great for eggs," was another suggested use.

"I also use mine for putting tomato paste or pizza sauce in to freeze after opening up a big jar. I think roughly 1 to 2 tablespoons each 1 holds," a third added.

Content creator Caroline aka The Delightful Cook has also praised the ice cube trays - that she calls "indestructible" - saying they are perfect for freezing stock, fruit, garlic, butter and more.

On the Kmart website, the silicone trays have an almost perfect score, with more than 100 customers giving the product 5 stars.

"These are great! Perfect for caravanning ice cubes last longer and fit better in the freezer. Recommend," one happy shopper wrote.

"This size is what I need for my caravan as I love cubes in my wine and these last longer and the container fits in the caravan freezer," said another.

It's not the first time Kmart has come to the rescue and solved a major caravan-related problem. Recently a fan of the retail chain shared said she purchased Kmart’s $5 yoga mat to line the cupboards, shelves and drawers in her van as a perfect non-slip option for her belongings.

“Yoga matting for all the cupboards. Game changer! Decked out my new SLOB every drawer and cupboard done,” she wrote.

She added in the comments that she had unfurled the mat in the sun so it was flat before cutting it up with a Stanley knife and a pair of scissors.

Plenty of people took the comments to applaud the “awesome idea”, with quite a few saying it’s easy to maintain and “better than the other non-slip matting” because it stays in place when pulling things out of cupboards.

“I’ve done that as well. Love it and easy to wipe over and clean,” another added, while a third agreed, “Did the same in our motorhome, cuts down the rattles when driving too”.
