Madonna Fans Convinced Sabrina Carpenter Is 'Copying' Her in Bombshell New Photo Shoot
Sabrina Carpenter channeled Old Hollywood glamour in a bombshell new photoshoot for Vogue, but while many fans immediately latched onto Marilyn Monroe as the inspiration, some are suggesting that she's actually ripping off one of the pop stars that came before her.
The "Taste" songstress, who has never been shy about adopting the vibe of Hollywood stars past, donned a recognizably Monroe-esque platinum windswept look for the magazine's March cover, leading some to do a double-take as they mistook the 25-year-old for the late actress, who was just 36 when she died.
But in her baby blue corseted lingerie set, featuring garter clips, dangling cords and a cone-shaped bra, some felt the songstress was "100%...copying" Madonna's signature style.
"She is Madonna!" another wrote, seemingly in a more supportive fashion, on X.
However, as fans dug more into the full photoshoot for the upcoming edition of the beloved fashion publication, the link between the two was clearly the intention of photographer Steven Meisel, who also photographed the "Material Girl" singer in 1991 with a similar hairstyle, makeup look, and set of poses—which likely also took inspiration from Monroe.
"Damn Madonna is really passed out in a secret hideout in Sabrina’s Bathroom," one person joked, implying that the rising star was actually a body snatcher.
"you can’t convince me this is Sabrina carpenter. she took Madonna’s nachos AND all the ingredients in the house," someone else said.
Another pointed out that it just goes to prove that Madonna "is and will always be very relevant in pop culture and fashion," observing that new generations "will always drink water from her fountain."
