$6 Kmart item campers swear by for rainy days: 'Our new go-to'

While summer usually evokes thoughts of sunny days, cool dips in the ocean, and sitting back at night listening to the cicadas, sometimes the weather fools us all with a little summer downpour that leaves you stranded indoors without any more Netflix shows to binge.

While its tough enough being stuck inside in your own home on a rainy day, spare some thoughts and prayers for those on holidays or on the road caravanning, because nothing screams restlessness more than being stuck in a tiny space in weather conditions that have you seeking shelter.

In a caravanning Facebook group dedicated to those on the road travelling with their kids (brave, brave soldiers), one member asked about how people entertain themselves on the road when the kids have gone to bed and many pulled through with some cheap and cheerful suggestions that could easily double up as wet weather fun.

"Looking for small lightweight games for hubby and I to play once the bubba has gone to bed. We are so disconnected due to our phones and scrolling social media aimlessly," the original poster said. "Any ideas please?"

Caravanners reveal $6 Kmart buy that cures all boredom

While there were a bunch of helpful suggestions, one classic card game was mentioned time and time again, with it currently being sold at Kmart for a very cheap and cheerful $6. And that my friends is, of course, UNO.

"We have a small pencil case with a pack of playing cards," one caravanner offered. "Uno, Magnetic chess, and 'go find it' (for the kids)."

"Any UNO games (our new fave is Uno No Mercy)," another person shared, while another suggested "UNO flip".

"Definitely UNO," another person agreed. "But you could grab a compendium of games for variety."

Other popular suggestions included Skipbo, Monopoly Deal and Monopoly GO, and Five Crowns.

"Would probably also add Cards Against Humanity and Monopoly GO," someone else suggested. "Compact, lightweight, easy to play."

"Five Crowns is our new go to," another shared.

Kmart, of course, has all the above in stock minus Cards Against Humanity, with Five Crowns retailing for $19, Monopoly GO for $25, Monopoly Deal for $5, and Skipbo for $14.

Though some caravanners had some more X-rated suggestions

Given the original poster mentioned a disconnection in the relationship, a few people came through with some more rogue and/or spicy suggestions.

"Turn the phones off, crack some booze and sit outside enjoying the scenery of the landscape and each other," someone said.
