The Masked Singer’s Lightning reveal baffles judges: ‘I feel so stupid!’
The Masked Singer’s latest reveal has once again astounded the judging panel after they incorrectly guessed who was under the mask.
Lightning became the eighth celebrity to be unmasked after their performance of Rachel Platten’s Fight Song, revealing singer, actress and model Alli Simpson.
Clues for Lightning detailed that they “affect the airwaves”, they believe in facing their fears and they “don’t want to be single”.
“Lightning only goes in one direction, and that made all the difference,” they shared.
The 23-year-old shocked the judges when she showed her face, as they had guessed Maddie Ziegler, Tones And I, Angie Kent and Sally Pearson.

“What a twist! I would never have thought,” Jackie O exclaimed, to which Alli replied, “I had you guys so fooled!”
After the I’m A Celebrity star explained some of her clues, including how both the airwaves and the mouse in her clue package were a reference to her show on Radio Disney, the judges were disappointed that they didn’t work it out.
“God, I feel so stupid!” Dannii said.
Shortly after her elimination, Alli took to social media to share her thoughts on the experience with her 1.2 million followers.
“What an absolutely surreal and incredible few weeks of my life,” she captioned an Instagram gallery.
“Becoming Lightning was super empowering for me - especially being the young girl that could not sing in front of anyone without crying of nerves first. Stepping out of my comfort zone felt unreal and I had the absolute time of my life.
“Btw, I might have something coming for you very soon, sooner than you think,” she added alongside music emojis.
Alli’s brother, season one winner Cody Simpson, also shared a video on his Instagram story showing her reaction when watching her final performance.
“So proud of my sister crushing it on The Masked Singer! You electric up there as Lightning,” he wrote.
Alli is the eighth celebrity to be revealed this year after Grammy-award winning performer Macy Gray, shock jock Kyle Sandilands, singing powerhouse Mahalia Barnes, football legend Lote Tuqiri, musician and actor Ben Lee, ex-MasterChef judge George Calombaris and former professional football player and actor Vinnie Jones.
