The Masked Singer fans furious over celebrity’s early reveal: ‘Travesty’
The Masked Singer fans are fuming after Tuesday night’s episode eliminated a celebrity they expected to go further in the competition.
Pavlova failed to move onto the next stage after their performance of Rise Up by Andra Day and was unmasked to reveal Australian singing powerhouse, Mahalia Barnes.
Clues for Pavlova detailed that they spent a lot of their childhood “down south in the hills”, they’ve “almost” been on Broadway, and some people see them as a “warrior” while others see them as a “storekeeper”.
“I’ve had my ups and downs. Who cares? I’m happy with who and where I am,” they shared.

The 39-year-old daughter of rock legend Jimmy Barnes shocked the judges when she showed her face, as they had guessed Gabriella Cilmi, Jojo, Naomi Watts and Lucy Lawless.
“What is wrong with us?!” Dannii Minogue exclaimed. “I’ve heard you sing so many times and I am floored that none of us got this!”
“Every year we guess you so many times, and this year I don’t think we mentioned your name once. We had given up hope!” Jackie O added.
When asked why she decided to join The Masked Singer, Mahalia admitted that it was because she had been guessed so many times in earlier seasons.
“I kept receiving all of these tweets every year asking if I was on and I thought, why haven’t I been asked to be on The Masked Singer?” she explained.
Fans of the show quickly took to Twitter to express their disappointment at Mahalia’s early exit from the competition, with many saying that she was “robbed”.
“It’s a travesty that they let Mahalia go so soon after such a stellar performance,” one fan wrote, with another adding, “Best voice on The Masked Singer and should definitely not have been voted out”.
“Are you kidding! You are REALLY saying that Mullet can sing better than Mahalia Barnes? This has to be a joke right? I’ll be VERY surprised if Mullet is a singer at all! Mahalia should have gone to the end!” a third tweeted.
“Mahalia gets screwed over every show she is on, she also went out way too early on The Voice,” someone else shared in reference to her brief appearance on season one.
Mahalia is the fifth celebrity to be revealed this year after football legend Lote Tuqiri, musician and actor Ben Lee, ex-MasterChef judge George Calombaris and former professional football player and actor Vinnie Jones.
