Kmart shoppers loving summer camping item that's half the price of other options: 'So comfortable'

Anyone who has ever been camping knows that the set-up is exhausting. There’s unpacking, hammering, blowing up mattresses and unrolling sleeping bags - all while yelling at the kids not to hurt themselves on their bikes and trying to find the chips so nobody loses it before dinner is made.

At the end of that, all anyone wants to do is sit down and relax… and that’s where Kmart’s latest genius product comes in. The budget retailer just so happens to be selling the perfect reclining chair and Kmart shoppers are going wild.

One such shopper is Zoe Hardy who told Yahoo Lifestyle that it was "very comfortable."

“It was great, it worked as a seat near the river as well as something to lay on. It was very comfortable,” the 24-year-old Sydney-sider said.

“It was easy to pack and it’s compact to fit easily in your car,” she says.

Other benefits of the Kmart recliner

Called the Stripe Towel Recliner it comes in pink or blue and features a padded seat and backrest with multiple adjustable reclining positions.

It only weighs two kilograms, and with a handle on the side, it’s easy to carry it, along with a child and a few bags of beach or camping gear!

“At $39 it’s a good price too, considering I have seen the same item from another place for double the price," Zoe says.

Kmart chair not just good for camping

Hardy is not the only person to have made the chair discovery and other Kmart shoppers have flocked to TikTok to share their find.

“If you’re a beach gal you’re going to love this,” Francesca Angelas told her followers on TikTok, unveiling the recliner. “It can be used for the beach but also for picnics, think outside the box. And it’s so comfortable. You’re going to be obsessed.”

Describing it as a couch/seat/bed she demonstrates how it goes from entirely flat to its different levels of back support. “The back support is insane,” she says.

Her followers were quick to weigh in with their ideas with one person writing: “I keep mine in my boot and it’s the best Kmart purchase I’ve ever had, use it at the park, beach even on my break from work when nice day outside.”

“Great for outdoor concerts too,” wrote another.

“I need this for when I put my kids to bed instead of just sitting on the floor next to their beds,” joked a third.
