Kyle Sandilands' brutal response to axed radio hosts: 'I don't care'
Kyle and his radio co-host Jackie 'O' Henderson didn't hold back.
Kyle Sandilands has shared whether or not he felt bad about Jase Hawkins and Lauren Phillips losing their jobs on KIIS FM in Melbourne to make way for him and Jackie 'O' Henderson to broadcast their Sydney-based show in the Victorian capital. And he did not hold back.
The Kyle and Jackie O Show launched in Melbourne last month as part of their huge $200m deal with the KIIS FM network, with Jase and Lauren losing their jobs at the station late last year.
After taking on Melbourne, it's believed Kyle and Jackie O have what it takes to broadcast from every capital city in Australia, with Kyle telling news.com.au, "I really think if we do real well in Melbourne, let’s say it’s half as successful as Sydney, then they’re just gonna have to roll it all out (nationally)."
The shock jock added that each market's performance would be taken into account before any major moves were made.
"That’s (why) we went for Melbourne, because we were like, we’ve given this (Jase and Lauren on KIIS FM) a good run, it can’t get over fourth (in the radio ratings), so we’ll take it," Kyle added.

When he and Jackie were asked if they "felt bad" about the move that cost several people their jobs, Kyle responded, "No... I don't care."
Jackie described it as a "double-edged sword, telling the publication, "No one ever wants to move someone out of a job, because I wouldn’t want that to happen to me."
Nova's Fitzy & Wippa with Kate Ritchie make bold move to take on Kyle and Jackie O
It comes after Yahoo Lifestyle revealed that Nova's Fitzy & Wippa with Kate Ritchie is preparing to announce a bold change to their family-friendly show to try and win over some of Kyle and Jackie O's audience.
A radio source spills that the trio is currently set to extend their show by an extra hour each morning. This means they'll soon start broadcasting from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. rather than wrapping things up at 9 a.m. on the dot as they have always done.

The change will see them rival The Kyle & Jackie O Show which has always broadcast from 6am to 10am, but often sees the pair continuing their show until up to 11:30am as they go rogue during interviews.
"Nova have been discussing this for a while but wanted to wait until Kyle and Jackie O had their eye off the ball and were focussed on Melbourne to extend," the insider claimed.
