Axed KIIS FM hosts slam Kyle and Jackie O Show over 'tasteless' move: 'Poor form'
"It's pretty poor form though to turn up to our event."
Melbourne-based radio hosts Jase Hawkins and Lauren Phillips were axed by KIIS FM last year to make way for The Kyle and Jackie O Show to be aired in both Sydney and Melbourne.
Jase and Lauren received the news the same day the announcement was made, with a tearful Lauren saying, "This is certainly not the way we wanted to bow out."
"We didn’t have a choice," she continued. "It’s a business decision that we have been told is what’s happening. We don’t want to say goodbye. We didn’t have to be here this morning to make this announcement, but we’re here."

This week, Kyle Sandilands and Jackie 'O' Henderson's show was finally launched in Melbourne and made their presence known to Jase and Lauren by having their promo bus crash the Nova hosts' outdoor listener event this week.
"To everyone who listens to this show, thank you so much," Lauren said. "It's not lost on us that without all of you, we wouldn't get to do this awesome job that we get to do every morning. So thank you to everyone for coming down and saying hello."
"Some people that weren't invited – I just want to mention the bus quickly," Jase said. "There's a giant Kyle and Jackie O bus going around Melbourne at the moment. And you know, like [Lauren] said it's not lost on us everyone coming down to say, 'Hey, we're supporting you guys, we’ve come over to Nova with you.'"
"It's pretty poor form though to turn up to our event," Lauren said, with Jase agreeing. "I must say because, I mean, they fired us. We haven't done anything wrong to them. They got rid of us, told us we weren't good enough. And now they're turning up to where we're standing there with the people that love our show and listen to our show. And trying to sabotage, it’s a bit tasteless."

Jase added that while he's "all up for a bit of fun", he felt like it was "bully-like behaviour" on behalf of KIIS FM, saying, "Like, you shafted us."
The hosts added that they didn't think it was actually Kyle and Jackie O's idea to have the bus come down, suggesting it was someone from KIIS FM in Melbourne who thought of the stunt.
They said that their listeners were just as unimpressed with the bus' presence, with Lauren joking, "Yeah we did have to hold them back and say don't give them flat tires. It's fine, because then they're gonna be stuck here."
"I thought that thing was gonna be up on blocks by six o'clock," Jase quipped.
