Kmart shoppers reveal common issue with popular summer item: 'Wasn’t the best'

Kmart shoppers are currently raving about a summer item that's proving to be very popular for the beach but also an array of other activities. If you're a parent, there is a good chance you already have one of these bad boys because having a kid somehow means needing to take seven carloads of stuff to the beach for a 30-minute excursion.

The item in question is the foldable and collapsible beach trolley, which comes in two different sizes and at two different prices, with one retailing for $59 and the other for $79. The budget retailer describes the product as being helpful for those who don't want to make continuous trips back to their car when at the beach.

One shopper asked in a popular Kmart Facebook group which version of the trolley people preferred, saying, "Just wondering if anyone has any feedback on either of these? As in which one is better with the wheels and stronger/holds together better."

Kmart shoppers were quick to provide feedback on the trolley, and while there were many fans of the convenient purchase, some others chimed in having a similar issue when it came to using it at the actual beach.

"I had one for a couple of years, used it for everything but it wasn’t the best at the beach," one person shared. "Have now upgraded to the Wanderer beach cart from BCF and it’s great, bigger wheels and can buy extra attachments like a cooler bag that clips on the outside so doesn’t take up room inside for your other stuff." (It's worth noting the BFC beach trolley retails at $120.)

"They aren't great on sand. I got one from Anaconda that was much better on sand," someone else recommended.

Kmart beach trolley 'changed my life'

Others chimed in saying if the Kmart trolley was to be used at the beach, to buy the one with bigger wheels, but many people found the Kmart trolley to be worth the price when it came to using it for other activities such as grocery shopping, camping, and even pulling kids around.

"The bigger wheels if you want to be able to pull it on sand. Can't fault them, very good quality," one shopper said. "We just got the blue one and have loved it so far. We just took it to the zoo and carried an esky with ice and drinks and then the rest of our bags and then at one point we had our 3-year-old sitting on the esky as well and our 1-year-old sitting on the other bags," another person shared. "It made life soooo much easier! So far has been great for the price."

A TikTok user also uploaded a photo of her trolley she uses to help with her professional cleaning job, citing it as a game-changer. "I'm so glad I purchased one, it has changed my life," she exclaimed in the video.

"We have the one with the canopy and it's fantastic. Haven't taken it on the beach but it's been great camping and for carrying groceries etc," another shopper said about their Kmart trolley. "Only thing that annoys me is that the cover sometimes slips off during use but it's still sturdy."
