Chelsea Handler Details 'Dangerous' Affair During London Olympics

Chelsea Handler once had a short-term affair that now sticks out in her mind as one of the most enjoyable she has experienced.

The comedian dusted off the memory during a recent appearance on the Call Her Daddy podcast. A video recording of the new episode was released on YouTube on Tuesday, Feb. 4.

When podcast host Alex Cooper first asked Handler, 49, if she could share “the best one-night stand” that she has “ever had,” the former Chelsea Lately host at first seemed unsure of which story to share. Handler explained that she experienced “so many” one-night stands during her 20s and 30s that she remembers as being “fun.”

After a brief pause, Handler recalled one experience she had nearly 13 years ago in London, England—and while she couldn’t remember the man’s name, she did remember that it lasted a bit longer than one night.

Back in 2012, Handler said she was in London for the Summer Olympics when she crossed paths with a “really sexy British guy,” who she went on to have an affair with for about one week. The media personality was staying with friends during her visit and encountered the man while walking home one evening.

Handler and the man “locked eyes” in a moment that she said was “like something you would see in a movie.”

“I’m like, ‘What if I just had an affair with this guy?’ And I walked past him, and I stopped, and I turned around, and he had stopped,” Handler remembered. “And it was late at night—like, this was dangerous, you know. It could have been.”

Even so, Handler said she didn’t hesitate when the man invited her to his home.

“The eye look that we had was so intense that I was like, ‘Yes,’” she said. “We went back to his house. I mean, we barely spoke.”

Years later, Handler said she remembers the experience as being full of chemistry and “purely sexual.” Though she met the man every night after the Olympics for as long as the short affair lasted, she didn’t tell the friends she was staying with about how she was spending her time.

“It just felt so steamy, and, like, sexy,” Handler said. “I wanted to keep it to myself.”
