After being hit with a cheating scandal in 2023, it seems as though Mary's engagement ring being front and centre could be seen as a sign that things are good between the King and Queen following allegations Frederik cheating on his wife.

The ring, which is estimated to cost around A$80k, features five stones, which are believed to represent Mary and her husband King Frederik, and their four children.

Spanish publication Lecturas claimed in 2023 that Frederik cheated on Mary with Mexican socialite Genoveva Casanova during a solo trip to Spain.

Frederik and Genoveva attended a Pablo Picasso exhibition together in Madrid, the publication also claims they went into her apartment building separately, both emerging two hours later before getting into the same car.

The pair left in the same car, with the then Crown Prince flying home to Denmark the following morning.

While the royals didn't address the scandal other than telling Danish publication B.T they "do not comment on rumours or insinuations", Genoveva hit back at the accusation, saying, "I categorically deny the statements that suggest a romantic relationship between Prince Frederick and me.

"Any statement of this type not only completely lacks the truth but also misrepresents the facts in a malicious manner.

"This is already in the hands of my lawyers, who will take care of the pertinent steps to protect my right to honour, truth and privacy."
