Caravan owner's genius solution for common storage problem: 'Work so well'
If you lose personal possessions easily, this storage hack is for you regardless of whether you own a caravan or not!
A caravan enthusiast has taken to a popular Facebook page to share a genius storage hack using a product usually found in a shower or ensuite and repurposing it to be able to become a nifty holder to store your valuable possessions in... but it has come with a word of warning from some other caravanners.
When you're on the road and living a more minimalist life, storage hacks and solutions will basically become your best friend in your van life, and this one can be used not only for avid caravan enthusiasts but for those playing at home too.
"Hi All. Just wanted to show you this idea," a poster put in a caravan storage hacks group on Facebook. "This product was essentially made for the shower. We decided to put them at the entrance of our door to the van to store our sunnies, phones, and keys in. I love the look and the product is so soft."
The product in question was a $33 shower caddy from Konsilee which is made from silicone, making it super durable and flexible (as well as waterproof if you wanted one for your actual shower).
People praise caravanner's clever storage hack
As the caravanner mentioned, they had been using the caddy instead to store easy-to-lose possessions such as sunglasses, and other people flooded the comment section to praise the idea and share what they've also repurposed similar caddies for.
"I have them all over my van," one person said. "TV remote, phones, air con remote," they listed off. "We put ours in the cupboard for sunnies & wallets, such a great product," another agreed.

Words of warning about the placement of caddy in caravans
While many loved the idea, some were concerned about placing car keys and phones near the caravan door, as it could make them more easily accessible to thieves.

"These are a great idea, I also use them. Hint: I have our keys (car, caravan, & padlocks) near our bed. At the door, it is easy for a lowlife to grab them," one person pointed out. "Good idea, but definitely not for keys!" another caravanner warned. "A very easy spot to steal from."
"Not for keys though .. too easy for thrives to grab," another cautioned.
"Great idea but first rule of security is not to leave keys by the door. Would be a great idea further into the van," another said.
