‘Big Mouth’ Final Season Sets May Release Date; Cynthia Erivo, Quinta Brunson and Holly Hunter to Guest Star

The eighth and final season of “Big Mouth” has set its eye on a May 23 premiere date, with Cynthia Erivo, Quinta Brunson, Holly Hunter and more guest stars joining the voice cast.

The half-hour animated comedy returns for one last ride as the Bridgeton teens take on high school, navigating drugs, sex, cancel culture and more. Season 8’s official description reads: “In the end, our kids step into the harrowing unknown of the future, made less afraid of what’s to come because they have each other.”

In addition to Erivo, Brunson and Hunter, the guest cast includes Steve Buscemi, Kristen Wiig, Nathan Fillion, Ali Wong, Richard King, Keke Palmer, Natasha Lyonne, Billy Porter, Craig Robinson and more. Series regulars include John Mulaney, Jordan Peele, Ayo Edebiri, Maya Rudolph, Jason Mantzoukas, Andrew Rannells, Nick Kroll and Fred Armisen.

With its eighth season, “Big Mouth” is officially Netflix’s longest running original series, excluding kids and family programming. The series was inspired by the childhoods of real-life best friends Nick Kroll and Andrew Goldberg, with the first season premiering back in 2017.

The release of “Big Mouth” Season 8 also coincides with the 25th anniversary of animation studio Titmouse. In an interview with Variety, Titmouse founder and president Chris Prynoski said: “The wild card that I wasn’t anticipating was Jennifer Flackett and Mark Levin coming on. They really brought character heart to it that I think elevated [“Big Mouth”] so much.”
