Aldi fans go wild over 'favourite' Special Buys this week: 'Let's go'

Aldi shoppers have been flocking to stores to stock up on their favourite American lollies and chocolates, with Aldi's Special Buys week focusing on bulk American treats. Twizzlers, Pop Tarts, Reese's, Twinkies, varieties of hot sauces, chips, and many more delights are on offer to tingle your tastebuds.

In a video racking up over 750k views, TikTok user Rachel uploaded a look into the American-themed Special Buys week, saying, "Pick up your American candy in Aldi Australia this week." The post quickly generated over 500 comments from excited shoppers.

"I NEED THE BUTTERFINGERS 😭," one person screamed in the comments. "This had to be why my mum screamed 'let’s go to ALDI' loud enough for the neighbours three houses up could here," another said.

"THEY PUT REESES MY FAV CHOCOLATE IN MY ALDI AND I'M BUYING THE EVERY DAY LOL," another excited fan said.

On Facebook, people were equally excited to see their fave American candy stocked in bulk, with a clear fan favourite amongst the stock: Butterfingers.

"Got myself a butterfinger today OMG!!!" one person said. "The Butterfingers are sensational smashed up into good quality vanilla ice cream. I normally soften the ice cream slightly, fold in the smashed Butterfingers then refreeze," another person pointed out.

"THE SMORES KIT WAS SO GOOD," another enthusiastic fan said.

Many shoppers showed off their impressive hauls on TikTok, with some even reviewing the American candy, though not every product got glowing reviews.

Speaking to Yahoo Lifestyle, an ALDI Spokesperson said, "Our customers always look forward to our seasonal Special Buys, including the ever-popular American Week. We’ve seen our shoppers excited to grab their Stateside treats such as Twizzlers, Pop Tarts, Reese’s, Twinkies, and a whole variety of savoury goodies, and we’re excited to bring these international delights to our Australian shoppers.”

The spokesperson also highlighted some of the other customer favourites from the selection including, French’s Classic Yellow Mustard 396g ($3.99), Oreo Double Stuff Cinnamon Bun 131g ($1.39), Arizona Iced Tea, Peach, 500ml ($2.49) and Reese’s Dipped Pretzels 120g ($5.99).

The American-themed week comes hot off the heels of Aldi's British Week, where British treats flew off the shelves, selling out 'within hours'.
