Aldi shoppers swear this $5 pantry item will change your life: 'Hooked'
For lovers of a good takeaway hack, this one is for you!
Weeknight dinners (and, let's be real - some weekend ones too) need to be quick, tasty and fairly cheap. While some folks can fathom whipping up a Wednesday night masterpiece that would make Gordon Ramsay weep, for most of us cooking during the week is kind of like jury duty - something we know we have to do even though it's inconvenient and we'd do anything to get out of it.
This is where social media can come in really handy - there are so many great recipe hacks and hot tips to be found as people share the little finds that have made their lives easier. From the viral feta recipe to two-ingredient chocolate bars and more, sometimes all it takes is a quick scroll to solve your dinnertime dramas.
A spicy find
In a recent post shared to a popular Aldi Facebook page, one shopper shared a simple $5 pantry item that had everyone singing its praises.

"So tried the new Thai green curry found in the fridge section," the customer wrote. "It is absolutely amazing!!! It is a little bit spicy so you can always add some coconut cream but it's delicious."
The post was quickly met with comments from other Aldi fans who were already onto the spicy secret and plenty of others who said they couldn't wait to try it for themselves.
"Yes, I loved this also," one person said.
"It’s my fave, I don’t feel like it’s that spicy. I just use it as is," another added.
"Yes love it had it last week," a third fan replied.
"They are so good we normally buy 1 a fortnight," a different shopper shared.
Quick and simple
The beauty of the green curry sauce is that it is a simmer sauce, which means it is quick and easy to use.
Here's how simple it is:
Place a large pan on high heat and add 1 tbsp of oil.
Add 500g of protein and cook to your liking.
Cut open 500g Thai Green Curry Fresh Simmer Sauce and pour into the pan.
Bring the curry to a boil then turn down the heat and simmer for 4 minutes.
Stir in 2 cups of vegetables and cook to your liking. Serve curry with steamed rice.
Garnish with fresh herbs to add extra zing.
For a milder curry, add coconut cream to your liking.
The idea of having a delicious, takeaway quality meal on the table in under 30 minutes and for around $5 was all several members of the group needed to be convinced.
"Will have to try," someone said while another wrote, "Will have to look out for that one."
"Oh yum, I’ll have to look for that one. Me and my son love the jar mix, but will try this one," another person added.

"I used the butter chicken one last night!! So good," another said.
"I must say, the new lines of Asian cuisine are pretty good, hooked on the spring rolls," a third person wrote.
The green curry find comes after Aldi shoppers were recently raving about the Char Sui Pork Bao Bun Kit.
