Why Jacob Collier Feels Like He's ‘Sparkling Away' with 3 Nominations at the 2025 Grammys (Exclusive)

Jacob Collier is proud to be at the 2025 Grammys!

On Sunday, Feb. 2, the 30-year-old English singer attended the annual award show with three nominations for his album Djesse Vol. 4, released last February.

The project landed Collier nominations for album of the year as well as best global music performance for "A Rock Somewhere" and best arrangement, instrumental or a capella for "Bridge over Troubled Water." He won the latter most award ahead of the ceremony.

In an interview with PEOPLE on the red carpet, he pays tribute to his outfit — a bedazzled multi-colored suit — while describing his emotions on the big night: "I'm sparkling away."

"All the colors all the time, and I love it, and this just feels comfy," adds Collier about his look. "And it's kind of just like a resonant outfit to be in, and it just felt right for today."

The performer's outfit includes sparkly blue, green, purple and yellow, along with a light blue heart-shaped pin. Many artists on the carpet wore the pins to support relief efforts following the L.A. wildfires.

Crediting the show's philanthropic element an "amazing thing that the Grammys have done," he adds, "L.A. feels like this invincible place, but it's also fragile, like the rest of the world, and so we've never needed music more and such an amazing initiative, I think, to transform the event around and just celebrate music and celebrate the music community and help people who are in need right.

As for how he feels about Djesse Vol. 4 getting nominated for album of the year at the 2025 Grammys, he tells PEOPLE it's "so surreal."

"Never something I would have ever imagined for an album as weird as mine," says Collier, who will also perform in tribute to the late Quincy Jones at the event.
