The Block fans divided over contestants' celebrity lookalikes: 'Offensive'
Can you see the resemblance?
I honestly can’t tell you how many times I watch reality TV and think, ‘Why does that person look so familiar?’, only to realise weeks later who their celebrity doppelgänger is. It appears viewers watching this year’s season of The Block have also thought that several contestants have a famous lookalike, from sports stars to A-list musicians and actors.
Fans have taken to social media throughout the season to point out what they believe are uncanny resemblances. But the question is, do you agree?

Grant's celebrity doppelgänger
Following this week’s go-kart challenge at the Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit , one fan took to Reddit to say that they think Grant looks very similar to Australian racing driver Daniel Ricciardo.
“The wife and I are catching up and were watching the go-kart episode. Is it just me or is Grant almost Daniel’s doppelgänger with the V8 cap on?” they wrote.
The post received a mixed response from viewers, with one person commenting: “We have been saying the same in our household.”
“I said it night 1 of The Block to the missus,” another agreed, while a third said, “If I make my vision blurry, I can sorta see it a little bit”.
However, plenty of people disagreed and commented that they couldn’t see the resemblance at all.
“Should have gone to Specsavers broski,” one user remarked, followed by someone else who joked, “How much did Grant pay you to post this?”
Meanwhile, Courtney and Grant appear to be aware of the comparisons as they recently posted a photo from the challenge on Instagram alongside the caption: “Is that you Daniel Ricciardo?”
Jesse's famous lookalike
Before he and his partner Paige quit the competition midway through filming, Jesse was constantly compared to Freddie Prinze Jr. on social media. The show’s official Instagram account poked fun at the resemblance during week one and shared a side-by-side photo alongside the text: ‘Jesse Prinze Jr.’
“I called it straight away. Paige even looks like Sarah Michelle Gellar a bit,” one person commented, while another added, “Ha! Glad I'm not the only one who thinks so”.
“I’ve been thinking exactly this!” someone else remarked, with a fourth writing, “100%. I thought it from the moment I saw Jesse”.
Others said the comparison was “a bit of a stretch” and the pair didn’t share any similarities besides a black t-shirt.
“It’s a no from me! Nothing like him,” one user said, followed by another who wrote, “This is offensive”.
Kylie's A-list twin
While she and her husband Brad’s negative attitude towards their co-stars has garnered the most attention online, Kylie has also received plenty of comments comparing her to Katy Perry.
“Every time I see Kylie with her hair pulled back she reminds me of Katy Perry,” one fan shared on Facebook.
“Yes she reminded me of someone too but I couldn't put my finger on it, but that's who it is,” someone else replied, while another wrote, “Ohh, I knew her face reminded me of someone I just couldn’t pinpoint it!”
“Yes I have been thinking the same thing,” a different user remarked.

Others compared Kylie to Adele, Shannon Doherty and Jessica Marais. Meanwhile, someone else said that Haydn is the “long lost brother” of last year’s contestant Brett, and Maddy looks like ‘Baby Spice’ Emma Bunton.
