The Block fans baffled by team's 'insane' decision: 'Very stubborn'
Kylie and Brad’s surprising decision left viewers divided on social media.
From her bright green hair to her all-black bathroom, it’s clear that Kylie isn’t afraid to stand out on this year’s season of The Block. However, her surprising decision in Monday night’s episode to completely alienate a group of buyers has left viewers scratching their heads.
The mother-of-four explained that she and her husband Brad were marketing their house to a “slightly older family that has older children”, which is why they decided not to turn any of their five bedrooms into a kids' room. Instead, they planned on making this week’s room a bedroom for an “older teen” with a double bed.

During their walkthrough, judge Marty Fox and Domain property expert Alice Stolz were taken aback by Kylie and Brad’s plan and tried their best to sway their decision. Alice reminded them that the average buyer in Cowes, the main township on Phillip Island, is between 25 and 54 - and over half of them have kids.
“I’m not suggesting you have to have a nursery, but I do just think you need to think of a family of some description,” she added, while Marty suggested that this week’s room should have bunk beds or “the ability to sleep with two king singles”.
“If you don’t do bunks, you could really segment your market and tighten it right down. Because a lot of the people that buy this, they will put it on Airbnb,” he said.
Viewers divided by Kylie's 'childish' behaviour
While Alice encouraged them to think about their own four children when planning their house, Kylie was clearly upset with the pair’s feedback as it went against her vision. She ended up having a nap at 2pm - and subsequently missed the group’s barbecue dinner - while Brad was left frustrated and unsure how to move forward.
Viewers took to social media throughout the episode to call out Kylie’s “insane” decision, with many labelling her behaviour as “immature” and “childish”.
“Kylie Kylie Kylie… Grow up, big deal you have to change the bed,” one person wrote, while another added, “Why is she sooking? That was great advice from Alice and Marty! Just keep the room style the same but put in two king singles!”.
“Kylie should listen a bit more. Very stubborn to stick to a style that the judges have criticised and Alice gave them good advice,” a third remarked, followed by a different user who said, “I think she has to realise the house is not hers. Too much black, cuts out a lot of people. Hope she did listen to Alice”.
“Sadly Kylie & Brad need to realise that even if they successfully market the house for edgy/non-kiddo couples adult groups, those people will NEVER buy or holiday near a bunch of kiddo-friendly houses in a resort-type setting. It’d be their worst nightmare,” someone else pointed out.
Fans applaud Kylie's decision
Meanwhile, others commended Kylie for staying true to herself and going against the grain in the competition.
“I think Kylie should stick to what she wants to do,” a fan declared, with another agreeing, “I think Kylie is great and not one to follow the rest of the sheep on that show
“I really like Kylie and Brad! I love that they are staying true to themselves and their style,” someone else replied.

“But why do they have to do a children’s room! If they don’t think that’s their target demographic, don’t do it,” a different user said.
“Put yourself in her shoes. You’ve been given the opportunity to design a house how you want and every week you get told ‘Nah I don’t like it, change this, do that’. It’s her design, if she fails come auction it’s on her,” another shared.
