The Block contestants and tradies slammed over 'unprofessional' on set behaviour: 'Zero respect'
The Block teams and tradies are being called out for having "zero respect".
Walking into any new job is scary and intimidating at first. But when you're joining The Block, there's no doubt that your anxiety would be heightened – especially when the other teams and tradies aren't playing nice.
It's only Maddy and Charlotte's first week on The Block, but they've been hit with several blows already as they try to finish their main bedroom and walk-in robe. Before Maddy and Charlotte arrived on the show, House 1 had previously shared their plasterers with House 5, Kristian and Mimi.

Kristian however, ensured that the plasterers were prioritising his house over the girls', who have been left with bare walls and no one to help them. "I've called every plasterer known to man at this point, and everyone, as soon as they hear Phillip Island, is like 'see ya!'" Maddy explained.
Her carpenter warned that if they don't find someone by Friday afternoon, they "will not finish".
The girls see that Courtney and Grant at House 2 have six plasterers to help them finish, but Grant isn't keen on sharing. Charlotte attempts to go to every house and see if anyone will help them but to no avail.
Hosts Shelley Craft and Scott Cam learn that on top of doing The Block, Maddy and Charlotte are also working on three renovations back home.
The sisters tell Scott that they want to make changes to their room plan made by former contestants Ronnie and Georgia, but they're "intimidated" by their carpenter Zak and are scared to talk to him.
Scott politely tells Zak this, but the carpenter is fuming about it and later takes the girls aside and says, "Instead of s**tcanning me on camera with Scotty and Shelley, if you've got a problem or something, just come to me straight and talk to me, you don't have to be intimidated."
"I don't give a f**k what you want to do, you can do anything, just talk to me and I can tell you if we can achieve it or not," he added. "Just don't s**tcan me on TV, or else I'll just f**king pull the pin and walk off."
He added that because his business is a local one if they're painted in a bad light, it will mean he can't get business after the show.
At the end of the day, the girls are totally abandoned by their plasterers, who won't agree to come back the next day to help them.
Probably the worst first week you can have... and it's not over!
The Block teams and tradies called out for having 'zero respect'
The other teams and the tradies on the show have been slammed by fans, with one Instagram user writing, "Love, love, love these girls. Quite disappointed how they were treated upon arriving by their trades and the other teams. I hope they win it all."
"Really felt for the girls. Felt so utterly disappointed with the way trades and contestants were talking to them," another agreed. "Like there was zero respect, zero care factor. They did so well in how they communicated the whole way through."
"Love these girls. The Block should have stepped in and told Kristian to pull his head in. They were actually House 1 plasterers to start with," a third added.

"The unprofessionalism of the trades was horrendous and Zak literally proved the girls' point about why they were nervous to talk to him," a fourth said. "Fire them all and start over again."
"It's like the other contestants are secretly sabotaging the girls," another said. "Guess The Block brings out people’s true colours... sad cause I thought this year was quality..."
"Exemplified how disrespected and underestimated women are in the building and construction industry," one person wrote. "Their builder didn’t want them to paint their business in a bad light, but I definitely think he did a very good job of that on his own by speaking to Maddy and Charlotte the way he did. Also, so disappointed that no other contestants helped them out by at least offering one or two plasterers."
