Former Block contestant reveals the startling amount you get paid on the show
Former Block star Ash Milton has revealed exactly what contestants are paid on the show.
Former Block star Ash Milton, who appeared on the show last year with his wife Steph, has revealed the surprising amount contestants get paid on the show. During an appearance on Triple M Breakfast with Margaux, Marto and Dan, Ash said that he wasn't sure how much he could reveal when asked the question.
"I'm still under a contract. I don't know how much I could say, but it's probably a public thing," he began, adding, "But you get a, you get a little bit of pocket money a day. I think it was around $100 per person per day, which isn't bad.

"But you still got to run a house at home. I mean, I actually shut down my whole business while I was down there. You know what I mean?"
Greg 'Marto' Martin pointed out that Ash would then have to start up the business once he finished on the show, adding that would also be tough to get new business again.
The Block's Ash shares his thoughts on Jesse and Paige's exit
Referencing Jesse and Paige's exit, he added that you shouldn't go on the show unless your relationship is strong in the first place. The radio show also shared some short snippets of Paige and Jesse fighting throughout the show.
"You've got to be a solid unit going in," Ash said, with Margaux Parker adding, "I think the other thing is, is they're relatively new in their relationship, just recently engaged.
"You know, they probably haven't been put under this type of pressure before. So, I mean, even if her mental health was at play here, which is not for us to make comment on, you know, she probably hasn't ever experienced anything like this to realise how you're going to deal with it or not."
Ash added, "Me and Leah went on there as a solid unit when we did our season last year. But we hear that arguing before – on our season, that was happening in my neighbour's house but it never got shown.
"So, it's on there, and it's happening, but it's how it wants to air," he said.
"It's how they edit it," Marto added.
Speaking about how much contestants are filmed and recorded, Ash said, "Mate, I had a rule, like I was up before the cameras come in and before they put the mics on.

"Mics go on at like 5:30 in the morning and then they'll take them off – depending on the night, but like Saturday night is your big night, that the mics were pretty much on until two in the morning."
"They'd even have a GoPro set up in your room," he told the shocked hosts, adding all the contestants know that and they sign a contract to allow it.
