Royal fans have expressed concern for King Charles after seeing a video of him falling asleep during his recent visit to Samoa with Queen Camilla. It comes after his step-son, Tom Parker Bowles, described Charles' cancer diagnosis earlier this year as 'very worrying'.

Charles and Camilla took part in a ceremony in Samoa last week, with fans noticing the King looked 'tired' and appeared to fall asleep at one point. Many royal watchers have been nervous that the tour took too much of a toll on him, as he had to pause cancer treatment while on the visit to Australia and Samoa.

Video of the moment can be seen here:

"The man was actually falling asleep," one user wrote on X. "You see his head going down slightly and then catches himself, and his head gives a little jerk and awake he is. They should have given this to Will. Although I don't know if he can do better."

"Charles is napping," another added. "[He] really he needs to go home."

"What is going on with his hands? They are bright red and swollen," a third pointed out.

Others defended the monarch, with one user writing, "I'm not a particular fan, but give over. It's sweltering hot. They're at a tedious required appearance, jet lagged, older, and he is still under the effects of cancer treatment (exhausting for a person of 25, much less of 75). I've nodded off for far less than that since I was 15!"

"This tour must be brutal for him, after going through chemo treatments," another said.

Many also thought it was rude that Camilla spoke behind her fan at one point, "When you whisper behind a fan you leave the impression that your saying something negative about the people around you."

"Whatever she was saying behind that fan, that is not how you behave in public," another added.

It comes after the King's stepson Tom Parker Bowles spoke candidly about Charles' health, saying His Majesty's cancer diagnosis has been "very worrying".

Speaking with People to promote his new book, Tom said, "It’s a terrifying disease, and when someone close to you gets it in whatever capacity, it’s a very worrying thing."

He added, "But my mother is strong as well. She supports him in every way. I think it’s wonderful to have someone you love by your side."

"He is doing what he can. He’s following the advice of his doctors. Fingers crossed, touch wood."

Tom added of his mother, "I’m incredibly proud of her. She’s at an age when most people think of retiring, but she never complains; she just gets on with it."
