Quinta Brunson Brings Flower Power to CDGA 2025 in Sheer Yellow Dress With Allover Floral Detailing

Quinta Brunson brought flower power to the red carpet for the Costume Designer Guild Awards 2025 on Thursday in Los Angeles. The “Abbott Elementary” Emmy winner was joined by such iconic talent as John Waters and more for the special event.

Brunson wore a sleeveless dress with sheer detailing and botanical inspiration. The actress and writer’s dress featured a halter-style neckline and a flowing, tasseled skirt in warm yellow. The dress featured allover floral details, with small silver elements at the center of each flower.

Keeping the dress the centerpiece of her entire ensemble, Brunson opted to go minimalist when it came to her jewelry pieces.

As for her glam, however, Brunson showed off her pixie haircut and favored a serene, clean makeup look. The actress’ makeup included bold brows, lightly lined eyes and a glossy lip for an added touch to her overall look.

Brunson’s eclectic style includes versatility when it comes to her preferred colors and tonal choices. At the 2025 WWD Style Awards in January, Brunson wore a cobalt blue sleeveless gown from Carolina Herrera’s resort 2025 collection, pairing it with monochromatic pointed-toe heels and a silver belt.

Just days after the WWD Style Awards, Brunson hit the red carpet again for the Golden Globe Awards, wearing a custom brown Roberto Cavalli gown designed by creative director Fausto Puglisi. “I kept thinking of velvet,” Puglisi said in a statement, referencing Brunson’s custom gown. “Velvet is one of my favorite Hollywood fashion sensations. A beautiful chocolate velvet, covered in shining beads. Quinta is a star, and she deserved to shine on her special night.”

The CDGAs honor the best costume designs in film and TV during the year. Jonathan Anderson, the creative director of Loewe, is among this year’s nominees for Excellence in Contemporary Film for his work on the Luca Guadagnino film “Challengers.” Janelle Monáe will also receive the second Vanguard Spotlight Honor at the 2025 ceremony.
